MediaCo Appoints Brian Fisher as President
MediaCo Holding announced executive leadership appointments that align the Company's leadership structure to support its long-term growth strategy. Effective immediately, Brian Fisher has been appointed President of MediaCo. Albert Rodriguez will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer, focusing on the Company's long-term strategy, growth initiatives and shareholder value, while Fisher assumes responsibility for leading the Company's day-to-day operations and execution. The Company also announced that Roberto Castro has been appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer and Interim Treasurer, overseeing the Finance organization while a search is conducted for a permanent Chief Financial Officer.
MediaCo Announces Leadership Changes to Board of Directors
MediaCo announced several leadership changes to its Board of Directors. After serving as independent Chair of the Board, Deborah McDermott will step down from her role as Chair and as Chair of the Compensation Committee. She will continue to serve as a member of MediaCo's Board of Directors and remain a member of the Compensation Committee. MediaCo appointed Robert Greene, CEO of the National Association of Investment Companies, as independent Chair of the Board. In addition, Greene will join and lead the Compensation Committee as its Chair. Amit Thakar has been appointed Chair of the Audit Committee and will succeed Robert Greene in that role, while Greene assumes his new responsibilities as Chair of the Board.
MediaCo Appoints Roberto Castro as Senior VP and Corporate Controller
MediaCo Holding announced the appointment of Roberto Castro to Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller. He joins MediaCo following a nearly 24-year career at Spanish Broadcasting System, where he served in various senior finance roles, including Vice President of Finance since 2015.
MediaCo Holding Expands HOT 97 TV Channel
MediaCo Holding announced the expansion of HOT 97 TV in its home market, launching over-the-air on WASA-TV on March 31st. WASA-TV will also continue to be available on Spectrum channels 811 and 1236 across the New York metro area. The company said, "Born in New York and built into one of the most influential brands in hip hop, HOT 97 has defined culture for decades with breaking artists, shaping conversations, and setting the soundtrack for the city. Now, that legacy continues to expand across television, streaming, and digital platforms."
MediaCo Holding Reports Strong February Audio Performance
MediaCo Holding announced a "strong" February performance across its audio portfolio, with audience growth in key dayparts and demos driving momentum in New York, Southern California, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston. The company said, "New York led by HOT 97 and WBLS, with HOT 97 rising to #4 in mornings and #3 in afternoons, and Prime AQH up 41% year over year. WBLS posted 35% afternoon AQH growth among Persons 25-54 and strong weekend gains. Southern California delivered one of MediaCo's strongest books, powered by Que Buena in Los Angeles, which saw double-digit AQH growth and major morning gains, and 96.1 KRQB, which posted standout increases including 200% midday growth among Persons 18-49 and triple-digit afternoon gains. Dallas-Fort Worth saw breakout performance from 106.7 KZZA, with 38% AQH growth vs. Q4 among Persons 25-54 and strong morning drive gains, while 98.3 KBOC delivered double-digit cume growth and 70%+ weekend AQH increases among Persons 18-49. Houston performance was driven by weekend and off-peak momentum, with 98.5 KTJM posting strong weekend gains across both demos, 107.9 KQQK delivering Persons 18-49 growth across afternoons, nights, and weekends, and 93.7 KNOR seeing triple-digit month-over-month nighttime growth among Persons 18-49."
