Voyager Reports Q3 Revenue of $4.01M, Below Expectations

Reports Q3 revenue $4.01M, consensus $6.35M. "There is strong momentum behind our two tau-targeted Alzheimer's disease programs, and we expect to report PET imaging data from our VY7523 multiple ascending dose trial in the fourth quarter and to dose the first patient with our lead gene therapy VY1706 in the next few months," said Alfred W. Sandrock, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Voyager. "During the third quarter, we continued to be disciplined in our operations to reduce year-over-year operating expenses and as a result, we have extended our cash runway into the second quarter of 2028. This strengthens our position as we approach key upcoming milestones."

Voyager Therapeutics Appoints Robin Swartz as President

Voyager Therapeutics announced that its board of directors has appointed Robin Swartz, currently chief business officer and COO, as president, effective October 20. Swartz is expected to succeed Alfred Sandrock, as CEO in Q1 2027, following the receipt of initial acute safety data from a clinical trial of Voyager's investigational tau silencing gene therapy VY1706 in adults with early Alzheimer's disease. Sandrock will subsequently continue to provide strategic guidance as a member of Voyager's board of directors.

Voyager Therapeutics Presents VY1706 Alzheimer's Therapy Data

Voyager Therapeutics presented six-month good laboratory practice toxicology data for VY1706, the company's investigational gene therapy targeting intracellular and extracellular tau for Alzheimer's disease, in a Developing Topics poster presentation at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference taking place in London, July 12-15. Data presented showed that VY1706 was well tolerated and resulted in sustained tau protein reduction up to 75% in key brain regions of non-human primates following a single intravenous dose over a six-month period. VY1706 demonstrated a favorable tolerability profile in the 3- and 6-month GLP NHP toxicology study, with no adverse clinical pathology or histopathological findings in the central nervous system, dorsal root ganglia, and peripheral organs up to the highest dose tested. A single IV dose of VY1706 in NHPs achieved broad, durable, and dose-dependent CNS delivery with up to 75% lowering of MAPT mRNA and tau protein in key Alzheimer's disease-relevant brain regions through six months. ALPL, a well-conserved brain vasculature endothelial receptor, mediates VY1706 blood-brain barrier transport, supporting the potential for cross-species translatability.
