Company Reiterates Revenue Growth Guidance for FY 2027
For the full fiscal year 2027, the company is reiterating its prior guidance for flat to modest revenue growth reflecting the timing of several large orders, growing demand in the medical device market and higher value production systems. The company said, "Looking ahead, we remain focused on expanding our installed base of production systems, supporting customers as they scale, and investing in the engineering, application development and commercial capabilities that will drive our next phase of growth. We continue to maintain our previously communicated expectation of flat to modest revenue growth for the full fiscal year. This outlook reflects the timing of several large, higher-value production platform orders, which can result in increased quarter-to-quarter variability as these systems become a larger portion of our business. With a strong and growing backlog and cash position, we believe we are well positioned to capitalize on the opportunities ahead and continue building long-term value for our shareholders. We are extremely proud of our performance and long-term track record of revenue and importantly net income growth."
Sono-Tek Q2 Revenue at $5.23M, Below Consensus
Reports Q2 revenue $5.23M, consensus $5.55M. Steve Harshbarger, president and CEO of Sono-Tek, stated, "Fiscal 2027 is progressing well, with solid first-half revenue growth, meaningful gross margin expansion and strong improvement in operating profitability. These results reflect disciplined execution across our operations and continued progress with our strategy of focusing on higher-value production systems in advanced technology markets, particularly medical devices. Medical was again the primary growth driver, with first-half sales increasing 289%, led by strong demand for balloon coating and specialty stent-coating systems. We are particularly encouraged by the increasing adoption of our technology as customers move from development into commercial manufacturing."
Sono-Tek Secures $7.19M Orders from Clean Energy Customer
Sono-Tek announced that it has received three purchase orders totaling approximately $7.19M from an existing customer in the clean energy sector. The orders include 10 production-scale coating systems for shipment to three different geographic locations and represent the largest aggregate customer order in Sono-Tek's history. The orders continue a multi-year relationship with a customer that has successfully installed and operated Sono-Tek production systems for its advanced solar manufacturing process. The latest orders represent a significant expansion of the customer's use of Sono-Tek's proprietary ultrasonic coating technology and further demonstrate the progression of Sono-Tek systems from process development into high volume manufacturing applications. The 10 systems are currently expected to be delivered primarily during Sono-Tek's 2028 fiscal year, which begins on March 1, 2027. Actual delivery timing may vary based on production schedules and customer requirements.
