ALX Oncology CEO: Evorpacept Clinical Trial Data Boosts Confidence
"Through strong execution of our targeted clinical development strategy in 2025, we have positioned ourselves to achieve multiple significant catalysts in the clinical programs for evorpacept and ALX2004, two potentially best- and first-in-class agents, in the coming 12 to 18 months," said Jason Lettmann, Chief Executive Officer at ALX Oncology. "We are particularly pleased that recent topline biomarker data from the Phase 1b/2 trial evaluating evorpacept with zanidatamab in advanced HER2-positive breast cancer reinforce findings from the ASPEN-06 HER2-positive gastric cancer trial, suggesting that CD47 is a predictive biomarker for evorpacept response. These findings strengthen our confidence in the ongoing Phase 2 ASPEN-09-Breast trial, where we will evaluate patient responses by CD47 level to further define the predictive potential of this biomarker among patients with HER2-positive disease that has progressed following ENHERTU."
ALX Oncology Releases New Data on CD47 Inhibitor with Jazz Pharmaceuticals for Breast Cancer
ALX Oncology (ALXO) announced new data from a Phase 1b/2 clinical trial evaluating the company's investigational CD47-inhibitor evorpacept in combination with Jazz Pharmaceuticals' (JAZZ) Ziihera in heavily pretreated patients with metastatic breast cancer. The topline findings, from an exploratory analysis in this trial, indicate that among patients with confirmed HER2-positive mBC, CD47 expression is predictive of evorpacept activity. "These new findings support a CD47-dependent, HER2-driven biology for evorpacept," said Barbara Klencke, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at ALX Oncology. "Going forward, we believe that a biomarker-driven approach incorporating CD47 expression may optimize patient selection for evorpacept combinations with HER2-targeted agents. Additionally, taken together, the data from this trial and the ASPEN-06 clinical trial reinforce our confidence in the ongoing ASPEN-09-Breast Phase 2 trial."
ALX Oncology Doses First Patient in Phase 2 ASPEN-09 Breast Trial
ALX Oncology announced that the first patient has been dosed in the Company's Phase 2 ASPEN-09-Breast trial evaluating its investigational CD47-inhibitor evorpacept. This trial will evaluate the combination of evorpacept with trastuzumab and physicians' choice of chemotherapy in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer whose disease has progressed after ENHERTU.
