LanzaTech Subsidiary Hebei Shoulang Certified Under International Sustainability Carbon Certification

LanzaTech announced that Hebei Shoulang, located in Tangshan, Hebei Province, China, has been certified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification EU scheme as a Recycled Carbon Fuel producer. Hebei Shoulang is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beijing Shougang LanzaTech Technology. The facility uses patented gas fermentation technology licensed from LanzaTech to convert waste gases from steel production into ethanol. Certification enables certified and compliant volumes of the facility's ethanol to be marketed as recycled carbon fuel for direct use in European Union marine and road markets, as well as for aviation fuel markets in the European Union and United Kingdom. "In mandated markets where verified carbon intensity carries real value, certification is what turns customer interest into revenue opportunity and accelerates our path to profitability," said Jennifer Holmgren, CEO and board chair of LanzaTech.

LanzaJet Secures At Least $20M Financing

LanzaJet announced fully committed new financing of at least $20M to support the company's next phase of growth and operations at Freedom Pines Fuels in Soperton, Georgia. The first close occurred on October 14, and the financing is expected to close in full by December. The financing is supported by LanzaTech Global, Vinod Khosla and the LanzaJet board and is part of a broader recapitalization and deleveraging of LanzaJet undertaken by its shareholders and existing investors. As part of the transactions, LanzaTech will significantly increase its ownership of LanzaJet. Freedom Pines Fuels is the world's first commercial-scale alcohol-to-jet production facility, with a production capacity of 10M gallons per year. Jennifer Holmgren, CEO of LanzaTech, will continue as chair of the LanzaJet board and support delivery of the company's go-forward plan as interim CEO.

LanzaTech Global Announces JV IPO Raising Approximately $75M in Hong Kong

The company states: "LanzaTech Global announced that Beijing Shougang LanzaTech Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture in which LanzaTech held a 9.31% equity stake prior to the offering described below, has launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 40 million H-Shares at a public offering price equivalent to approximately US$1.86 per share, based on applicable exchange rates, on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The offering raised gross proceeds of approximately US$75M before underwriting discounts and commissions. Based on the offering price, the JV had an implied market capitalization of approximately US$750M upon listing. The JV's ordinary shares commenced trading today on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, under the stock code 02553."
