MoneyHero's Largest Shareholder Urges Board to Consider Sale
Jonathan Honig, the largest unaffiliated shareholder of MoneyHero, issued an open letter to the Company's Board of Directors urging the Board to immediately explore strategic alternatives, including a potential sale of the Company. "As you should be aware, I am the largest unaffiliated shareholder of MoneyHero Limited with beneficial ownership of approximately 9.0% of the Company's outstanding Class A Ordinary Shares... As a long-term and committed shareholder of the Company, I have supported management and the Board of Directors in their efforts to drive a profitable enterprise; however, I am writing today because I have become increasingly concerned by several developments, which has led me to believe that the Board should immediately initiate a strategic review process to explore a sale of the Company... The Company cannot afford to operate indefinitely under interim leadership, particularly given the competitive dynamics of the markets in which it operates. A business of this nature requires a permanent CEO with a clear mandate and the confidence of shareholders... Annual revenue has declined in each of the last two fiscal years.. The most recent closing price of the Company's shares was US$0.675, down more than 88% from when it opened as a publicly traded company in October 2023... Given these facts, I believe the best course of action to maximize value for all shareholders is for the Board to: Retain an independent financial advisor and initiate a comprehensive strategic review process to evaluate a sale of the Company, alongside any credible strategic alternatives; and Provide shareholders with meaningful transparency regarding the CEO search process, including the expected timeline for appointing a permanent Chief Executive Officer."

The major averages closed sharply higher to end an otherwise down week. The rebound came as oil prices retreated from their recent highs, easing some of the inflation pressure that has pushed Treasury yields to multiyear highs. The August consumer price index report came in roughly in-line with expectations, with headline consumer prices rising 0.4% month over month and 3.4% from a year earlier, while core CPI increased 0.3% monthly and 2.4% annually. The firmer-than-expected core reading suggests underlying inflation remains sticky.Markets are now pricing about 90% odds of a 25-basis-point Fed hike next week, a dramatic change from the expectations for rate cuts that dominated the market earlier in the summer.Get caught up quickly on the top news and calls moving stocks with these five Top Five lists.1.
