PolyPid and ADVANZ PHARMA Terminate D-PLEX Exclusive Agreement in Europe
PolyPid announced that PolyPid and ADVANZ PHARMA have mutually agreed to terminate their 2022 exclusive License, Distribution and Supply Agreement for D-PLEX in Europe. As a result, the exclusive European commercialization rights for D-PLEX have reverted to PolyPid.
PolyPid Receives FDA Priority Review for D-PLEX
"The second quarter of 2026 and the first few weeks of the third quarter completed PolyPid's transition into a commercial-stage company, with the acceptance by the FDA with Priority Review of our NDA submission for D-PLEX, with no filing review issues and a PDUFA goal date meaningfully ahead of the guidance we have previously communicated," said Dikla Czaczkes Akselbrad, Chief Executive Officer of PolyPid. "In parallel, the U.S. and Canada commercial partnership we entered into in July, together with the immediate $30 million from the partnership, places PolyPid in potentially the strongest financial position in the Company's history, with no immediate financing needs. With the NDA review process on track, our substantially strengthened financial position, and our U.S. and Canada commercial partnership with Azurity, we believe PolyPid is well positioned to advance D-PLEX for abdominal colorectal surgery and, over time, additional broader surgical indications."
FDA Accepts PolyPid's D-PLEX100 NDA for Priority Review
The FDA accepted D-PLEX100's NDA for priority review, strengthening the regulatory outlook and PolyPid's balance sheet through a $15M milestone payment, with attention now turning to FDA inspections, manufacturing readiness, and a potential 1Q27 launch, Roth Capital analyst Boobalan Pachaiyappan tells investors in a research note. The firm, which has a Buy rating and $9 price target on the shares, says the NDA acceptance update "met or exceeded" the firm's internal expectations.
PolyPid's D-PLEX100 Receives FDA Priority Review
PolyPid announced that the FDA has accepted for filing the new drug application, or NDA, and granted the NDA a priority review for D-PLEX100 for the prevention of surgical site infections in patients undergoing abdominal colorectal surgery. The FDA did not identify any filing review issues and set a Prescription Drug User Fee Act target action date of November 28, approximately one quarter ahead of the company's previously communicated first quarter 2027 guidance. Priority review shortens the FDA's target review timeline from ten months to approximately six months.
Roth Capital: PolyPid Strikes $320M Commercialization Deal with Azurity
Roth Capital notes that PolyPid struck a $320M commercialization agreement with Azurity for potential D-PLEX100 commercialization in the U.S. and Canada. From PolyPid's perspective, this deal provides an external validation for D-PLEX100 and clears the commercialization overhang, though the firm acknowledges the modest nature of near-term revenue. In contrast, Azurity gained access to a first-in-class SSI agent with multiple label-expansion opportunities, though Roth caveats that operating-room workflow integration and hospital formulary guidelines could prove to be a challenge. Stock declined due to post-announcement reset and potential warrant overhang. The firm reiterates a Buy rating on PolyPid, with a price target of $9 on the shares.
