Starfighters Space Signs MOU with Bionetics Corporation

Starfighters Space announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding, or MOU, with The Bionetics Corporation to integrate and process a series of pathfinder small payloads for missions aboard the Company's F-104 aircraft. Under the MOU, Bionetics will work with Starfighters to prepare multiple classes of small payloads, including their pre-flight and post-flight assembly, testing, integration, and data retrieval, using Bionetics' specialized laboratories, equipment, and personnel within the Space Life Sciences Lab at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport. Located at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport, just nine miles from Starfighters' hangar, the Space Life Sciences Lab is a 104,000-square-foot facility with dozens of laboratories that support NASA and commercial space activities, including processing microsatellites and conducting spaceflight experiments. Both Starfighters and Bionetics are housed within the facility, which is also home to Space Florida, multiple universities, and other space companies.

Starfighters Space Supports Space Ready Act

Starfighters Space announced its support for the Space Ready 2.0 Act, introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives as H.R. 9651 by Congressman Mike Haridopolos and in the U.S. Senate as S. 4905 by Senator Ashley Moody. The proposed legislation would authorize NASA to establish a pilot program allowing the agency to work with public and private entities to improve shared infrastructure at NASA centers, including Kennedy Space Center. "As a commercial operator at Kennedy Space Center, we see firsthand how infrastructure built for an earlier era of spaceflight is now supporting a growing mix of government and commercial space operations," said Tim Franta, CEO of Starfighters Space. "The Space Ready 2.0 Act would provide a practical framework for NASA and its commercial partners to work together to modernize the shared infrastructure on which their missions depend, without creating a new federal spending program. Maintaining modern and reliable spaceport infrastructure is essential to supporting continued growth on the Space Coast and preserving American leadership in space."

Starfighters Space Announces Next Phase of 'Wind Tunnel in the Sky' Development

Starfighters Space announced the next phase in development of "Wind Tunnel in the Sky," a reusable airborne platform designed to help commercial, government, defense, and research customers evaluate advanced technologies during sustained Mach 2+ flight in real-world atmospheric conditions. "As demand for hypersonic and advanced aerospace systems continues to grow, access to specialized test infrastructure remains limited, increasing demand for complementary commercial flight-test capabilities," said Tim Franta, CEO of Starfighters Space. "While ground wind tunnels remain essential for aerospace research and development, airborne testing can expose hardware to combinations of weather variation, vibration, acceleration, dynamic pressure, temperature and operational conditions that cannot always be fully reproduced in a fixed facility."
