VivoPower Signs Agreement with Open Innovation AI to Develop Data Centers
VivoPower announced that it has executed definitive heads of agreement with Open Innovation AI, the UAE-based AI orchestration, operations and security platform company to jointly explore and develop secure sovereign AI Data Centers across the Nordics, Mainland Europe, the GCC and selective countries in Asia. The agreement was signed at Sheikh Zayed Museum in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, 21 October, in the presence of senior leadership from both companies. The signing in the UAE capital reflects Abu Dhabi's growing role as a global hub for sovereign AI, and the ambition of both partners to take that model to new markets. Under the Agreement, the two companies will work together to originate and deliver AI data center projects with control and security embedded from design to operation. Open Innovation AI brings its Full Stack AI Fabric, combining orchestration and scheduling, AI and ML operations, agentic workflows, agent harness and AI security into one platform. VivoPower brings site sourcing and acquisition, site development, power and facility operations, and local market municipality and sovereign relationships.
VivoPower Mobilizes Construction for 40MW Data Center in Norway
VivoPower announced the mobilization of construction for the conversion of a 40MW first phase AI data center at its Mo i Rana facility in northern Norway. VivoPower has selected a global AI industry leader as its preferred AI tenant for the Mo i Rana facility. The site works package will be delivered by Mo i Rana-based contractor Oijord & Aanes Entreprenorforretning AS. These work packages will be completed in advance of the full mechanical and electrical fit-out of the facility, for which VivoPower has conducted a tender review process with leading international data center supply chain partners. The company expects to award and announce this contract shortly. VivoPower completed the acquisition of the operational Mo i Rana data center on April 21. "We remain committed to delivering on a ready-for-service date as expeditiously as possible but without compromising quality and safety given the long-duration nature of the infrastructure asset being built," said Shane Whelan, chief real estate officer.
