Jasper Therapeutics Completes IgAN Phase 2 Study Enrollment
Jasper Therapeutics announced that it has completed enrollment of the IgA nephropathy, or IgAN, cohort of its Phase 2 basket study evaluating vensobafusp alfa, or KP104, a bifunctional biologic that simultaneously and selectively targets both the alternative and terminal complement pathways. The company expects to report initial interim data from the IgAN basket study by year-end 2026. In addition, Jasper has accelerated the initiation of an additional cohort to the study evaluating vensobafusp alfa in focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, with the first patient anticipated to be dosed in the first quarter 2027.
Jasper Therapeutics Completes Acquisition of Kira Pharmaceuticals
Jasper Therapeutics announced that Jasper has completed the acquisition of Kira Pharmaceuticals in an all-stock transaction. The combined company will focus on advancing a consolidated pipeline of potential best-in-class innovative therapies for immunologically-driven disorders, including KP-104, a potential best-in-class dual-complement inhibitor for the treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) and high unmet need nephrology disorders, briquilimab, an anti-KIT antibody with broad therapeutic utility across multiple transplant and immunologic indications, and KP-701, a novel, dual-acting anti-CD79BxCD32B monoclonal antibody (mAb) for autoantibody-mediated disorders. The combined company will continue to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "JSPR."
Jasper Therapeutics Initiates Strategic Alternatives Review
Jasper Therapeutics announced that, following an evaluation of current market conditions, its board of directors has decided to initiate a review of strategic alternatives. Strategic alternatives being evaluated include, among other options, a sale of assets, licensing of assets, collaborations, a sale of the company, a business combination, merger or other strategic transaction, or an orderly wind-down of operations. In connection with this strategic review, Jasper will continue to evaluate cost-saving measures to preserve cash, and plans to continue to maintain compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
Jasper CEO Highlights Briquilimab's Potential in CSU and CIndU
"Briquilimab has demonstrated the potential for a compelling and differentiated profile in both CSU and CIndU, along with proof of concept in asthma," said Jeet Mahal, President and CEO of Jasper. "We are very pleased with the chronic urticaria data we reported in January from the BEACON study as well the open-label extension study, which reaffirmed the potential of briquilimab to drive rapid and durable disease control in patients. We are finalizing dose selection for the Phase 2b portion of our planned Phase 2b/3 study in CSU where we will evaluate two efficacious doses versus placebo to demonstrate the differentiated profile based on briquilimab's unique biological properties. We remain on track to commence patient enrollment in the second half of 2026, pending capital availability."
Jasper Therapeutics Updates Clinical Data on Briquilimab
Jasper Therapeutics is reporting positive updated clinical data from Jasper's BEACON Phase 1b/2a study of subcutaneous briquilimab in adult participants with CSU, as well as from the open label extension study in CSU and CIndU. Treatment with briquilimab resulted in rapid disease control in the additional participants enrolled in the 240mg / 180mg Q8W cohort in the BEACON study, with 83% of participants achieving a complete response by week 3 after the initial 240mg dose, and 67% reporting a complete response at 12 weeks. Similarly high levels of efficacy were demonstrated in the open-label extension study evaluating a 180mg Q8W dosing regimen, with 58% of CSU participants achieving a complete response at 12 weeks.
