Fuel Tech Appoints Ramesh Nuggihalli as New CEO
Fuel Tech announced the appointment of Ramesh Nuggihalli as president and CEO of the company, effective August 10. Nuggihalli will also join Fuel Tech's board of directors. He succeeds Vincent Arnone, who is retiring as an executive of the company after 27 years of service, the last 11 of which have been as president and CEO. Arnone will remain with the company during a transition period and will also remain a member of Fuel Tech's board of directors. Nuggihalli joins Fuel Tech following a career leading emerging growth markets and multinational organizations, both public and private, including CECO Environmental, Xylem, Pentair & Tyco, General Electric, and Ametek.
Fuel Tech Secures $2.6M Air Pollution Control Contracts
Fuel Tech announced the award of two air pollution control contracts valued at approximately $2.6M with industrial customers. An order was received from a new domestic industrial customer to supply Selective Catalytic Reduction systems with UDI Urea Direct Injection reagent delivery systems utilizing a multi-function catalyst for two new natural gas fired turbines. These systems will provide high levels of nitrogen oxide reduction, as well as reducing carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds to meet the site requirements. The UDI system eliminates the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia. Fuel Tech will commence engineering work immediately with equipment delivery in the fourth quarter of 2027. A change order was received from a repeat domestic customer to modify the scope and accelerate the delivery of an on-going SCR project. Delivery of the system for this industrial production unit will be completed in the third quarter of 2026.
Fuel Tech Secures Approximately $10M Air Pollution Control Contracts
Fuel Tech announced the award of multiple air pollution control contracts valued at approximately $10M with domestic utility and industrial customers. The new awards were led by a contract that calls for the integration of Fuel Tech's Selective Catalytic Reduction pollution control technology with two new natural gas-fired turbines for a large, publicly-owned Midwest municipal utility. These new turbines will increase the plant's output by approximately 100 MW. The expanded generating station is expected to become operational in 2029. Fuel Tech is expected to commence engineering work immediately with equipment deliveries scheduled to begin in late 2027. The company said, "Two orders were received from our historical industrial customer base, one for a customer in the South for an upgrade to its NOxOUT Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction system. Fuel Tech's SNCR technology is a proven solution for utility and industrial combustion unit owners looking to comply with more stringent NOx control requirements. Delivery of the upgrade will be completed in Q3 2026. The second was from an industrial customer in the Midwest for an enhancement to its SCR system which is also expected to be completed in Q3 of this year."
Fuel Tech Receives $3.2 Million in Air Pollution Control Contracts
Fuel Tech announced the receipt of air pollution control, APC, orders from new and existing customers in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. These orders have an aggregate value of approximately $3.2 million. An order was received from a repeat domestic customer to supply a Selective Catalytic Reduction system and an aqueous ammonia reagent delivery system to an industrial process plant in the Western US. The SCR system will provide high levels of nitrogen oxide reduction using aqueous ammonia reagent at the customer's new production plant. This is the sixth order from this customer over the past two decades. Equipment deliveries are expected in the third quarter of 2026. An order was received from an existing customer in Europe for an aqueous ammonia delivery and injection system for renewable energy facilities in support of green hydrogen production. Equipment deliveries are expected in the third quarter of 2026. An order was received from a new global refinery customer in Southeast Asia for an SCR system using anhydrous ammonia as the reagent. The SCR system will be installed on a gas-fired industrial process unit. Deliveries are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Fuel Tech awarded air pollution control orders totaling $1.4M
Fuel Tech announced the receipt of air pollution control, APC, orders from new and existing customers in the US and Europe. These orders have an aggregate value of approximately $1.4 million. A contract was received from a new customer in the US for an ULTRA system to be installed on a natural gas turbine with a heat recovery steam generator and Selective Catalytic Reduction, SCR, system at a medical facility in the Midwest. Fuel Tech's ULTRA process provides for the safe and cost-effective on-site conversion of urea to ammonia for use as a reagent where SCR is used to reduce nitrogen oxide, NOx, eliminating the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia. Delivery is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
