Cocrystal Pharma Doses Last Subject in CDI-988 Norovirus Study

Cocrystal Pharma announced that the last subject has been dosed in its Phase 1b norovirus challenge study evaluating CDI-988 as both a preventive and treatment for norovirus infections. CDI-988 is the first oral antiviral drug candidate developed for norovirus acute gastroenteritis and is designed to inhibit viral replication in all known norovirus strains. CDI-988 completed a Phase 1 clinical trial in Australia, with data showing CDI-988 was safe and well tolerated in humans, with no serious adverse events reported.

Cocrystal Pharma Secures $5M Investment from Opko Health

Cocrystal Pharma (COCP) announced a $5M investment from Opko Health (OPK) as the company advances its lead norovirus program toward Phase 1b topline data later this year. Under the terms of the agreement, Cocrystal sold 5,474,053 shares of its common stock to Opko at a price per share of $0.9134, the Nasdaq consolidated bid price on the trading day of closing, for proceeds to the company of $5M.
