HeartBeam Announces Positive Results from ALIGN-ACS Study

HeartBeam announced positive results from its ALIGN-ACS pilot study evaluating the HeartBeam System for heart attack assessment. The results were presented in an oral presentation by Graham Nichol, MD, MPH, FRCP, of the University of Washington, at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, TCT, 2026 conference in San Diego. Key study findings: HeartBeam demonstrated higher specificity than standard 12-lead ECG, with comparable sensitivity, pointing to its potential as a rule-in diagnostic aid. For ST-elevation myocardial infarction, the most time-sensitive form of heart attack, sensitivity was 82.9% for HeartBeam compared with 83.8% for standard 12-lead ECG. Eight cardiologists interpreting the ECG readings agreed more often with the HeartBeam recordings than with standard 12-lead ECG recordings, supporting the consistency of interpretation across readers. 100% of patients successfully obtained their own HeartBeam recordings under clinical supervision and with no prior training, supporting the feasibility of a patient-recorded ECG and the potential for use outside traditional clinical settings.

HeartBeam to Present Heart Attack Study Results at TCT 2026

HeartBeam announced that the results of the ALIGN-ACS pilot study evaluating the HeartBeam 3D ECG technology for heart attack assessment will be presented at TCT 2026, taking place at the San Diego Convention Center, October 31-November 3, 2026. The abstract presentation titled "Detection of Acute Coronary Syndrome by a Credit Card-Sized 3-Lead Device Versus Standard 12-Lead ECG in Emergency Department Patients" will be delivered by Graham Nichol, MD, MPH, of the University of Washington on Sunday, November 1 at 1:20 PM Pacific time. The pilot study evaluated the HeartBeam System and a standard 12-lead ECG in detecting acute coronary syndrome, of which up to 80% is diagnosed as a heart attack. The study enrolled 132 patients presenting with chest pain in the emergency department across two clinical sites in Belgrade, Serbia.

HeartBeam's 3D ECG Technology Accepted into FDA TAP Program

HeartBeam announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, FDA, has accepted the HeartBeam System into its Total Product Life Cycle Advisory Program, TAP, Pilot, a voluntary FDA program to accelerate patient access to Breakthrough medical devices. The acceptance, which was awarded ahead of schedule, applies to HeartBeam's 3D ECG technology, which received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation earlier this month, as a tool for assessing potential heart attacks outside of a medical setting.
