Aptera Motors Partners with Launch Design for $44M Strategic Investment
Aptera Motors announced a strategic investment by Launch Design. The partnership covers a production program valued at up to approximately $44M at current exchange rates, spanning assembly fixtures and tooling, vehicle testing, pilot production, and high-volume production work. Those first fixtures and parts are for Aptera's first 40 production vehicles, which the companies are aiming to begin building in the fourth quarter of 2026. The partnership also opens Launch's international supplier network to Aptera. Aptera will pay two-thirds of approved program costs, with the remaining third, up to approximately $15M, paid in warrants to purchase Aptera stock. Additional terms of the agreement and the warrants will be included in a current report on Form 8-K to be filed with the SEC.
Aptera Motors Places Orders for Major Structural Components of First 40 Vehicles
Aptera Motors announced that it has issued purchase orders for the major structural components of its first 40 vehicles. The orders represent a significant step in the company's transition from validation builds toward production. The purchase orders cover two of the vehicle's largest structural assemblies: the body and the chassis, including its frame and suspension. Unlike the validation vehicles Aptera built to test and refine its design, these components are intended for the company's first production vehicles, which are expected to include the first vehicles delivered to customers. Deliveries of body and chassis components are expected to begin in October, supporting Aptera's plan to reach start of production. The company continues to execute on its financing plans to be able to fund the production ramp.
Aptera Motors Partners with RepairPal
Aptera Motors announced a partnership with RepairPal. The partnership will give Aptera owners convenient access to RepairPal's network of more than 4,300 certified service locations nationwide, providing customers with service options close to home.
Aptera Motors and Zaptera Resolve Litigation
Aptera Motors and Zaptera have resolved litigation originally filed by Zaptera in 2024. Zaptera has dismissed all claims with prejudice and without right of appeal, with each party to bear its own costs and attorney fees. Chris Anthony, co-CEO of Aptera, said: "Resolving this matter allows us to move forward with clarity and focus as we continue advancing our mission. Our team remains committed to delivering solar mobility to the world and accelerating the transition to more efficient, sustainable transportation. With this unnecessary distraction behind us, we continue to focus bringing our vehicle to market and scaling our impact."
