Google Parent Company Shares Drop 7% to 3-Month Low
Mega-cap Tech weighed heavily on sentiment in Thursday's trading as elevated capex plans by Alphabetand Teslaworried investors. Parent of Google fell 7% to trade at a 3-month lows, while Tesla shed 15%, falling to 2026 lows below $320. Every other member of the MAG-7 also traded lower on the day, as Communication Services, Consumer Cyclicals, and Technology sectors underperformed. Health Care and Industrials were the best performing sectors in the S&P 500, with Energy also bid amid ongoing Iran-US tensions. WTI Crude Oil was up for the fifth consecutive day, rising above $92 per barrel - the highest level in over a month.In the opening hours of the evening session on Thursday, S&P e-minis are flat while Nasdaq 100 contract is up 0.2%. Blowout earnings result out of Intelis making an attempt to rightsize the ship, seemingly sent adrift by the floundering Tech space, where Semiconductor ETFhas now fallen 13% from its June 22nd high. Friday may well see a bounce, especially in light of the market tolerating higher capex plans by the chipmaker. JAKKS Pacific Reports Q2 Revenue of $139.2M
Reports Q2 revenue $139.2M vs 119.094M last year. Reports Q2 toys and consumer products net sales were $97.5M, up 21% vs. last year. Reports Q2 costumes net sales were $41.7 million, a year-over-year increase of 8%. "We finished the second quarter with good momentum heading into the second half of the year. The year is developing as we had planned," said Stephen Berman, Chairman and CEO of JAKKS Pacific. "Many retailers in the US are recalibrating their pricing and where they have done so, we see consumers responding positively to our compelling product offering. Our first half new product introductions were broadly well received and sold through. Our Action Play & Collectibles business was up by over 40% in the quarter and reached $97 million in net sales for the first half, our highest level in over 15 years. Our Dolls, Role-Play and Dress-Up business was up over 11% in the quarter despite a lack of new entertainment properties in that division. Our evergreen businesses are rebounding from last year and setting us up well for the quarters ahead".

JAKKS Pacific Partners with SEGA for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Merchandise
JAKKS Pacific (JAKK) announced a multi-year partnership with SEGA for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Paramount Pictures' (PSKY) feature film set to release in theaters March 19, 2027. Through the collaboration, SEGA and JAKKS will design, develop, and manufacture a range of products including action figures, plush, playsets, role play, costumes, and costume accessories, set to hit the market in early 2027, ahead of the film's release.
