Horizon Aircraft Advances Cavorite X7 All-Weather Certification
Horizon Aircraft continues to advance the all-weather certification pathway of its Cavorite X7 through the company's ongoing partnership with Flight Centre of Excellence and anti-icing technologies being developed by the University of Toronto. Progress has been steady on the company's $10.5M INSAT-funded all-weather vertical propulsion eVTOL project in collaboration with 3C and UofT. In July 2026, wind tunnel testing began on small coupon samples that feature UofT's ice protection technologies, marking the first step in evaluating the viability of these technologies on the Cavorite X7. Flight Test Centre of Excellence, established by Marinvent Corporation, is Canada's only Transport Canada Approved Independent Flight Test and Certification Design Approval Organization.

New Horizon Aircraft Signs LOI with V-Star to Purchase 5 Cavorite X7 Aircraft
New Horizon Aircraft announced it has signed a Letter of Intent, LOI, with V-Star Powered Lift Aviation, an Australian-based aircraft operator specializing in advanced power-lift aircraft, to purchase 5 Cavorite X7 hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft with options to purchase up to an additional 95 aircraft. V-Star intends to secure the delivery slots for these 5 aircraft with a firm deposit upon execution of the definitive agreement.
Horizon Aircraft Selects Beta Technologies for Flight Control Computers
Horizon Aircraft (HOVR) has selected Beta Technologies (BETA) to supply its advanced flight control computers on the company's full-scale hybrid-electric VTOL - Vertical Take-Off and Landing - aircraft, the Cavorite X7. Through this partnership, Horizon Aircraft will integrate BETA's fly-by-wire flight control hardware and customized software into the Cavorite X7 as the company advances aircraft development, testing, and certification activities.
New Horizon Aircraft Appoints Richard Alexander as Chief Engineer
New Horizon Aircraft (HOVR) announces that Richard Alexander has been appointed Chief Engineer of Certified Programs of Horizon Aircraft as the Company advances its certification strategy, engineering maturation, and commercialization planning for its hybrid-electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing aircraft, the Cavorite X7. Richard will combine his experience with that of the Company's Co-Founder, Brian Robinson, to help deliver an operationally ready and certifiable aircraft. He most recently served as CAE's (CAE) Electric Aircraft Integrator leading the battery-electric conversion of the Piper Archer training aircraft.
