Starfighters Space Supports Space Ready Act
Starfighters Space announced its support for the Space Ready 2.0 Act, introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives as H.R. 9651 by Congressman Mike Haridopolos and in the U.S. Senate as S. 4905 by Senator Ashley Moody. The proposed legislation would authorize NASA to establish a pilot program allowing the agency to work with public and private entities to improve shared infrastructure at NASA centers, including Kennedy Space Center. "As a commercial operator at Kennedy Space Center, we see firsthand how infrastructure built for an earlier era of spaceflight is now supporting a growing mix of government and commercial space operations," said Tim Franta, CEO of Starfighters Space. "The Space Ready 2.0 Act would provide a practical framework for NASA and its commercial partners to work together to modernize the shared infrastructure on which their missions depend, without creating a new federal spending program. Maintaining modern and reliable spaceport infrastructure is essential to supporting continued growth on the Space Coast and preserving American leadership in space."
Starfighters Space Announces Next Phase of 'Wind Tunnel in the Sky' Development
Starfighters Space announced the next phase in development of "Wind Tunnel in the Sky," a reusable airborne platform designed to help commercial, government, defense, and research customers evaluate advanced technologies during sustained Mach 2+ flight in real-world atmospheric conditions. "As demand for hypersonic and advanced aerospace systems continues to grow, access to specialized test infrastructure remains limited, increasing demand for complementary commercial flight-test capabilities," said Tim Franta, CEO of Starfighters Space. "While ground wind tunnels remain essential for aerospace research and development, airborne testing can expose hardware to combinations of weather variation, vibration, acceleration, dynamic pressure, temperature and operational conditions that cannot always be fully reproduced in a fixed facility."

Starfighters Space Develops F-104 Air Launch Technology
Starfighters Space is developing an air-launch approach to reaching space: using F-104 supersonic aircraft to carry payloads and launch vehicles to high altitude before release. Starfighters operates a fleet of F-104 Starfighter jets, aircraft originally built for pure speed, that the company says can fly at a sustained Mach 2, roughly twice the speed of sound. In a recent broadcast interview with WESH 2 News, the company described taking the aircraft up to Mach 2.02, and framed its business in terms most investors will immediately recognize. "Elon and Blue Origin, they're trucking companies," Starfighters Chief Executive Officer Tim Franta said in the interview, describing the large, heavy-lift rocket operators that dominate headlines. "Think of us not even as Uber, but Uber Eats. We're delivering something very small to a specific spot and trying to do it inexpensively."
Starfighters Space Welcomes FAA's Proposed Rule for Supersonic Flight Regulation
Starfighters Space welcomed the Federal Aviation Administration's - or FAA - proposed rule to modernize how civil supersonic flight over land is regulated in the U.S. The proposal would replace the longstanding speed-based restriction with a performance-based certification framework that reflects advances in aircraft technology and noise mitigation. The FAA's proposal represents a "significant step toward replacing decades-old flight regulations with a modern approach based on measurable ground-level sonic overpressure rather than a blanket prohibition on civil supersonic flight". The proposed framework is intended to encourage innovation while maintaining public safety and environmental standards. Starfighters Space currently conducts authorized supersonic flight operations under existing regulations. The company believes a modernized regulatory framework would create new opportunities for commercial customers seeking real-world high-speed flight environments for research, technology development, training, testing and validation. The company intends to participate in the FAA's public rulemaking process.
