Akari Therapeutics Announces Strategic Research Collaboration with Whitehawk Therapeutics
Akari Therapeutics announced a strategic research collaboration with Whitehawk Therapeutics. Under the collaboration, the companies will conduct a series of focused preclinical studies evaluating Akari's proprietary PH1 spliceosome-modulating payload technology in combination with Whitehawk's topoisomerase I inhibitor ADC platform. Akari will lead the design, execution and evaluation of the research activities. The initial collaboration will include multiple preclinical workstreams designed to assess dual payload compatibility and synergies, while generating data intended to guide future development decisions and potential broader collaboration opportunities between the companies. The collaboration is expected to commence immediately, with interim data updates anticipated as studies progress. Both companies will jointly review resulting data and determine whether findings support broader development discussions.

Akari Therapeutics Secures Australian Patent for Core Technology
Akari Therapeutics announced the acceptance of an Australian patent covering its core payload technology, and further expanding protection of its proprietary ADC platform. The accepted patent includes composition-of-matter claims covering proprietary analogs of Thailanstatin designed for use as cytotoxic ADC therapeutics. This patent contains broad claims covering the use of these proprietary splicing payloads with ADC linkers and may be used to target different proteins on the cancer cell. Akari's growing pipeline of novel ADCs including AKTX-101 and AKTX-102 all use the PH1 payload that is built around this novel IP.
