Waldencast Receives FDA Approval for Obagi saypha ChIQ Injectable Hyaluronic Acid Gel
Waldencast announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Obagi saypha ChIQ injectable hyaluronic acid gel, the latest addition to the Obagi injectable portfolio under the Obagi Medical brand. Developed by Croma-Pharma GmbH, the dermal filler is indicated for cheek augmentation and the correction of midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21. "Obagi saypha ChIQ is a meaningful addition to our integrated aesthetic portfolio - giving practitioners and patients more ways to achieve end-to-end skin transformation with predictable, measurable outcomes, and bringing us closer to our vision of building the world's leading dermatological megabrand," said Michel Brousset, co-founder and CEO of Waldencast.
Canaccord Raises Waldencast Price Target to $3
Canaccord raised the firm's price target on Waldencast to $3 from $2 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. The firm noted the company announced they have entered into an agreement to sell its Obagi skin care and aesthetics business to Bridgepoint. The transaction is valued up to $460M and comprises $366M in cash, a $10M fixed vendor note, a $20M adjustable vendor note, and up to $64M in earnout payments based on revenue milestones.
Waldencast Sells Obagi Medical Skincare Business for Up to $460M
Waldencast announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Obagi Medical dermatological skincare and aesthetics business to Bridgepoint in a transaction valued at up to $460M, marking a significant step in Waldencast's strategy to strengthen its balance sheet and focus on accelerating the global growth of Milk Makeup. The transaction, which has been unanimously approved by disinterested members of the Waldencast Board of Directors, is expected to close within the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of required regulatory approvals. The transaction is not subject to a financing condition or a shareholder vote. Concurrent with the completion of the transaction, the company expects to repay its approximately $178M of senior secured term loan to Lumina Capital Management Ltda.
Obagi Medical Collaborates with ProMD Health on Hyaluronic Acid Program
Obagi Medical announced a collaboration with ProMD Health as part of the Aesthetics Leadership with Obagi's Hyaluronic Acid Program. ProMD was selected for its strong multi-location network of 17 practices and its commitment to clinical excellence, making it an ideal evaluator to rigorously examine Obagi saypha MagIQ alongside comprehensive skincare protocols across its multi-state provider base. Through this collaboration, ProMD providers will participate in a structured evaluation of MagIQ across multiple practice locations. The program combines clinical education from Obagi national educators with hands on ProMD Health injector experience. The effort combines real world evaluation with an integrated skincare approach to further evidence-based advanced injection techniques and post-care protocols designed to deliver consistent, high-quality patient outcomes.
