Spruce Biosciences Launches MPS3BStudy.com Website
Spruce Biosciences announced the launch of MPS3BStudy.com. The website enables families and caregivers to learn about, and register their interest in, the planned Expanded Access Program and TrAnsform confirmatory study of investigational tralesinidase alfa enzyme replacement therapy, both of which are expected to initiate as early as the fourth quarter of 2026.
Spruce Cash and Cash Equivalents Reach $96.3 Million
Cash and cash equivalents as of June 30, 2026 were $96.3 million, compared to $48.9 million as of December 31, 2025. Spruce believes that its cash and cash equivalents as of June 30, 2026 will be sufficient to fund its planned operations and debt obligations into the second half of 2027.
Spruce CEO: Plans to Submit TA-ERT BLA in Q4
"The second quarter was a period of significant execution as we advanced TA-ERT toward our planned BLA submission in the fourth quarter, which would be a transformative milestone for Spruce and for the children and families living with MPS IIIB," said Javier Szwarcberg, CEO. Spruce Biosciences Secures $5.5M Strategic Investment
Spruce Biosciences announced that Cure Sanfilippo Foundation and the National MPS Society have agreed to make a combined $5.5M strategic investment in Spruce. The proceeds will be used to partially fund TA-ERT EAP, helping to broaden patient access to investigational TA-ERT for the treatment of Sanfilippo Syndrome Type B. "We are deeply grateful to Cure Sanfilippo Foundation and the National MPS Society for their partnership and their conviction in Spruce's development of TA-ERT," said Samir Gharib, President and Chief Financial Officer of Spruce Biosciences. "This investment is a powerful expression of what we can accomplish when industry and the patient community work together. Their support helps us expand access to investigational TA-ERT for children with MPS IIIB who urgently need treatment options today, while we continue our work to bring this therapy to all eligible patients."
Spruce Biosciences Appoints Jessica Cohen Pfeffer as VP of Clinical Development
Spruce Biosciences (SPRB) announced the appointment of Jessica Cohen Pfeffer, M.D., as Vice President, Clinical Development. Cohen Pfeffer joins Spruce from BioMarin Pharmaceutical (BMRN), where she spent more than a decade in roles across clinical development, product portfolio development and medical affairs. Most recently, as Executive Medical Director, she served as clinical sciences lead for Brineura.
