Medirom Healthcare Signs Agreement with Tools for Humanity, Projects $39 Million Income Over Two Years
Medirom Healthcare announced that the Master Service Agreement entered into with Tools for Humanity and World Foundation became effective on February 2, 2026. Currently, Orbs are installed at more than 150 locations, primarily at relaxation studios "Re.Ra.Ku" operated by the MEDIROM Group. Cumulative authentications have surpassed 20,000 to date. Based on the current authentication performance levels, if Medirom achieves its target of expanding to approximately 3,000 locations nationwide in Japan, the Company estimates that it could generate income before income taxes of approximately USD 39 million over the next two years under the Agreement.
MEDIROM Collaborates with World Foundation to Deploy Proof of Human Technology in Japan
MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies is collaborating with World Foundation and Tools for Humanity to deploy Proof of Human technologies such as World ID throughout Japan. The World project was co-created by Sam Altman and Alex Blania. In preparation for the full-scale rollout of the World project in Japan, MEDIROM has entered into a Master Service Agreement with Tools for Humanity and World Foundation. Under the MSA, the MEDIROM Group will be responsible for the operation of "Proof of Human" verification locations in Japan. This initiative is expected to contribute to MEDIROM's revenue through operation fees and related services over time. Leveraging MEDIROM's nationwide network of approximately 300 physical locations and operational expertise, the collaboration enables rapid and trusted deployment of Proof of Human technology at scale. To support this effort, MEDIROM will newly establish a dedicated special task force, the "MEDIROM World Proof of Human Task Force," and will strengthen its organizational structure to promote the nationwide rollout of Proof of Human technology powered by World.

Medirom Healthcare to Introduce New Treasury Strategy Utilizing Cryptocurrency
MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies announces the launch of a new treasury strategy utilizing cryptocurrency. As part of this strategy, the Board of Directors has resolved to hold Worldcoin, a Proof of Human authentication protocol, as a reserve asset, aiming to diversify business activities and mitigate financial risks. As of October 28, 2025, the group holds 6,840 WLD. These held WLD are intended for use through the company's product, the MOTHER Bracelet, a smart tracker requiring no charging. Specifically, the company plans to distribute WLD as an incentive to users with specific medical conditions when they provide vital data using the MOTHER Bracelet. This incentive program aims to collect vital data from a larger patient population.
Medirom Healthcare reports that more than 10,000 individuals have obtained World IDs at various locations.
MEDIROM Healthcare surpassed 10,000 verifications of World ID at its Re.Ra.Ku and other wellness salons throughout Japan. The Company plans to further expand the installation of the Orb, an advanced camera that verifies humanness, to 200 stores. MEDIROM has joined the "World," a "proof of human" protocol co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania. As the number of World ID verifications increases, more individuals across society will be able to prove their humanness, enhancing the convenience and reliability of this new digital social infrastructure. Furthermore, the increase in such authentication transactions is expected to contribute to our revenue growth.
