GCT Semiconductor Forms Strategic Partnership with Infrastructure Provider
GCT Semiconductor announced a strategic partnership and license agreement with a leading infrastructure provider for utilities and IoT to accelerate the development of next-generation UAV control and communication technologies. As part of this initiative, GCT is developing a defense vertical to expand its dual-use technology and support emerging mission-critical and defense applications. The collaboration combines GCT's advanced cellular and NTN expertise with the provider's industrial-grade wireless innovation and includes the integration of GCT's GDM7243i connectivity solution and IoT module. The two companies have a long history of successful cooperation in the utility sector, using GCT's IoT modules across large-scale smart metering and grid modernization projects. Building on that foundation, this new agreement expands their collaboration into new verticals - leveraging shared strengths to support emerging use cases across logistics, security, defense-related operations and more.

We also expanded into new connectivity markets through a recent strategic collaboration, leveraging GCT's IoT technology and module capabilities to support UAV control and communications applications across commercial and defense-related use cases. MaxLinear and GCT Semiconductor Announce Strategic Partnership
MaxLinear (MXL) and GCT Semiconductor (GCTS) announced a strategic partnership to develop integrated and cost-effective 5G fixed wireless access, or FWA, gateways and converged gateways for consumer and enterprise applications. The companies will demonstrate their integrated solutions at Computex Taipei, June 2-5. FWA is a growing broadband data access segments, delivering high-speed internet wherever cellular coverage is available. For enterprise customers needing reliable or flexible WAN links, converged gateways deliver continuous connectivity. MaxLinear and GCT have partnered to combine their strengths in Wi-Fi, network processing, 5G and LTE cellular technologies by pre-integrating MaxLinear Wi-Fi with GCT's cellular modem. This AnyWAN integration delivers a converged gateway solution that enables migration between multiple WAN technologies.

"In the first quarter we delivered a substantial 58% sequential increase in 5G chipset shipments, a clear indicator that customers are continuing to transition from evaluation into early deployment. Our broadened licensing agreement with one of the world's largest global satellite communications providers highlights the growing importance of GCT technology in enabling converged connectivity across both terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. We view this as a multi-phase opportunity that can drive incremental adoption of our solutions over time as next generation user equipment platforms are introduced. Looking ahead, our focus remains on scaling 5G chipset production by strengthening our supply chain and operational infrastructure to support higher volumes. While we are still in the early stages of this ramp, we believe the progress achieved in the first quarter reinforces our expectation, and aligns with our previous experience in 4G. We expect sequential growth in 5G chipset shipments as commercialization ramps throughout the year."
