Fuel Tech Secures $3.3M Air Pollution Control Contracts
Fuel Tech announced the award of multiple Air Pollution Control, or APC, contract amendments valued at approximately $3.3M for utility and industrial customers. An order was received from a domestic customer for a project involving two new natural gas-fired turbines for an industrial site involved with natural gas infrastructure. The original scope was to supply Selective Catalytic Reduction systems with UDI Urea Direct Injection reagent delivery systems utilizing a multi-function catalyst to provide high levels of nitrogen oxide reduction, as well as reducing carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds to meet the site requirements. The UDI system eliminates the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia. The expanded scope includes additional process and interconnection equipment to support the original SCR scope. In Europe, three orders were received on separate SCR projects to provide additional services and equipment.
Fuel Tech Secures $2.8M Air Pollution Control Contracts
Fuel Tech announced the award of multiple air pollution control contracts valued at approximately $2.8M for utility and industrial customers. An order was secured for a urea reagent delivery system for a new U.S. utility customer adding new natural gas-fired turbines and reciprocating engines as part of a power plant expansion. The scope is to supply the urea reagent delivery systems to support Selective Catalytic Reduction systems to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions to meet the site requirements. The urea system eliminates the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia. Fuel Tech will commence engineering work immediately with equipment delivery expected in the third quarter of 2027. Two separate awards were received for electrostatic precipitator performance modeling services from new domestic and international customers. The ESP modeling incorporates a suite of interdependent computer models into a Numerical Electrostatic Precipitation model, which quickly and economically identifies the available upgrade options that can help improve ESP performance and achieve compliance with new and emerging particulate environmental regulations. Both modeling contracts are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. A contract was also secured from a repeat domestic customer to demonstrate Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction technology on a waste incinerator unit. The demonstration is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026 and, subject to a successful outcome, permanent equipment orders could be secured in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Fuel Tech Appoints Sharon Jones as Chair of the Board
Fuel Tech announced that the board of directors has elected Sharon Jones as chair of the board, effective September 15. Jones will succeed Vincent Arnone who, as previously announced, retired from Fuel Tech as president and CEO. Arnone will continue to serve as a director as part of the company's planned leadership transition. Fuel Tech announced the appointment of Ramesh Nuggihalli as president and CEO of the company, effective August 10. Nuggihalli will also join Fuel Tech's board of directors. He succeeds Vincent Arnone, who is retiring as an executive of the company after 27 years of service, the last 11 of which have been as president and CEO. Arnone will remain with the company during a transition period and will also remain a member of Fuel Tech's board of directors. Nuggihalli joins Fuel Tech following a career leading emerging growth markets and multinational organizations, both public and private, including CECO Environmental, Xylem, Pentair & Tyco, General Electric, and Ametek.
Fuel Tech Secures $2.6M Air Pollution Control Contracts
Fuel Tech announced the award of two air pollution control contracts valued at approximately $2.6M with industrial customers. An order was received from a new domestic industrial customer to supply Selective Catalytic Reduction systems with UDI Urea Direct Injection reagent delivery systems utilizing a multi-function catalyst for two new natural gas fired turbines. These systems will provide high levels of nitrogen oxide reduction, as well as reducing carbon monoxide and volatile organic compounds to meet the site requirements. The UDI system eliminates the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia. Fuel Tech will commence engineering work immediately with equipment delivery in the fourth quarter of 2027. A change order was received from a repeat domestic customer to modify the scope and accelerate the delivery of an on-going SCR project. Delivery of the system for this industrial production unit will be completed in the third quarter of 2026.
