Qnity Electronics Introduces Ultra-Thin Flex Circuit Materials
Qnity Electronics introduces ultra-thin flex circuit materials that help enable the next generation of smart consumer electronics, including smartphones, AI glasses, and AR/VR devices, through advanced materials innovations that deliver exceptional bendability, mechanical performance, and reliability for advanced interconnect applications. As smart consumer electronic devices continue to become thinner, lighter, and more feature-rich, manufacturers face increasing challenges in balancing performance, durability, and design flexibility. To address these evolving needs, Qnity has developed ultra-thin material technologies based on Kapton polyimide films and Pyralux flexible laminates that support increasingly complex form factors while maintaining reliable performance.
Apple Expands Partnerships with U.S. Companies for iPhone 18 Pro Production
Apple (AAPL) announced new and expanded partnerships with American companies that are supplying critical materials and components for iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. Through its American Manufacturing Program, Apple is partnering with Perryman Company, a Pennsylvania-based titanium producer, to supply titanium for Apple products, including iPhone Duo. Apple is also expanding its partnership with Qnity Electronics (Q), headquartered in Delaware, to produce technology for the new variable aperture in the iPhone 18 Pro camera system - the most advanced Apple has ever made. Apple works with suppliers in all 50 states and supports more than 450,000 American jobs. Last year, the company deepened that commitment by launching AMP, aimed at bringing even more advanced manufacturing and critical component production to the United States as part of Apple's $600 billion, four-year commitment to U.S. manufacturing and innovation. The grade 5 titanium enclosure on iPhone Duo is exceptionally strong, providing amazing durability to the first foldable iPhone. Apple will commit up to $100 million over the next three years with Perryman, a family-owned business and a global leader in manufacturing specialty titanium products. At its site in Houston, Pennsylvania, Perryman melts, forges, and rolls titanium with a minimum of 80 percent recycled content for iPhone Duo. Apple is also expanding its partnership with Qnity Electronics to build key camera technology for iPhone 18 Pro in the U.S. Qnity, which joined the American Manufacturing Program in March, will produce advanced films essential to the new variable aperture camera system on iPhone 18 Pro. Variable aperture is at the heart of the new 48MP Fusion Main camera, which enables incredible light and depth control. It's powered by on-device intelligence that automatically lets in more light for darker settings and helps get sharper detail in brighter ones.
Qnity Electronics Introduces New Memory Cooling Solutions
Qnity Electronics introduced two new advanced memory cooling solutions leveraging Laird Graphite-over-Foam, GOF, and Laird Thermal Interface Material technologies. Both advanced solutions help data center designers keep high-density memory systems, including Double Data Rate 5 Dual In-line Memory Module, DDR5 DIMM, modules cool, reliable, and serviceable as AI pushes memory density and power to new levels.
Qnity Introduces High-Performance Kalrez 7080 Sealing Parts
Qnity Electronics introduced Kalrez 7080 perfluoroelastomer parts, a high-performance sealing solution engineered for semiconductor processes operating at temperatures up to 330 degrees C. Designed to support increasingly demanding thermal environments, the new solution strengthens Qnity's portfolio of Kalrez sealing technologies for semiconductor manufacturing. Kalrez 7080 parts and other Kalrez sealing solutions will be featured at Qnity's booth at SEMICON West, Oct. 13-15, in San Francisco, Calif.
Qnity Electronics Appoints Ken Rizvi as CFO
Qnity Electronics (Q) has appointed Ken Rizvi as SVP and CFO, effective October 1. Michael Goss, who has been serving as interim CFO, will assume the role of Qnity's Vice President, Finance and Controllership, at that time. Rizvi most recently served as CFO of Synaptics (SYNA).
