American Express just announced it will cut about 5% of its workforce. Netflix announced about 6% layoffs in the same week it reported earnings. Meanwhile, earnings for S&P 500 companies are expected to grow more than 30% this quarter. Read that again. Companies are cutting jobs while profits are soaring. I'm not saying this to scare anyone. This is just how businesses operate. They want maximum output at the lowest cost, and AI is making that easier. Your job is not your safety net. Most companies will only pay you enough so you don't quit. The way to protect yourself is to own top companies and buy when the price is right. When they become more efficient, owners get richer — that means shareholders. Earn as much as you can at work, put every extra dollar into your brokerage account, and buy excellent companies at reasonable prices. There are plenty of opportunities out there. If you play it right, you can make a lot of money.

I'm planning to start bottom-fishing NFLX, same as with NKE. After the last earnings drop, I figure institutions will quietly start buying. That's the shameless part of Wall Street. Analyzing Wall Street's human nature is a million times more important than analyzing a company's financials. I won't touch a single share of semiconductor AI. Now do you see why semiconductors, despite such broad prospects—on one hand, as Jin Shanghao put it, they should "rise beyond all recognition"—have actually just kept drifting lower? Feel free to laugh at me all you want. See you at the end of the year. 😁😁

$NFLX really needs a zoom-out to the weekly view to find pivot support levels, such as 58.70, 54.20, and the old breakout on volume at 48.50.
