CIBC Reports Q3 Revenue of C$8.37B

CIBC's leverage ratio and liquidity coverage ratio at July 31, 2026 were 4.3% and 127%, respectively. CIBC Innovation Banking Provides $17M Funding for Modo Energy

CIBC Innovation Banking has provided a $17M growth funding package for Modo Energy, bringing the total amount of funding raised by the company to $52M. The company will use the financing to invest in the platform and expand sales and marketing operations.

CIBC Sells Caribbean Business for $1.6 Billion

CIBC announced an agreement to sell its 91.67% interest in CIBC Caribbean to The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son for a total consideration of approximately $1.6B. Proceeds will be comprised of $1B in cash and 52,100,024 Butterfield common shares, currently valued at $645M, representing a minority interest of approximately 22% at closing. This transaction will allow the bank to reallocate capital towards strategic growth priorities in North America. CIBC's Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio is expected to increase by 24 bps upon closing. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to Butterfield shareholder and regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.
