Net Interest Margin for Q1 2026 Rises to 4.08%
The net interest margin for the first quarter of 2026 was 4.08% compared to 3.73% for the previous quarter, an increase of 35 basis points.

Reports Q4 net interest margin 3.73% vs. 3.68% last year. Tangible book value per share was $16.51 at period end vs. $17.46 at previous period end. Common equity tier 1 ratio was 15.90% vs. 19.93% last quarter.
MetroCity Bankshares and First IC Anticipate Merger Completion by December 1
MetroCity Bankshares, the holding company for Metro City Bank, and First IC, the parent company of First IC Bank, both based in Doraville, GA, previously announced that MetroCity received all required regulatory approvals and non-objections to complete its merger with First IC, as well as the approval of the First IC shareholders. MetroCity and First IC announced that the merger is expected to be completed on December 1, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the remaining customary closing conditions.

MetroCity Bankshares announced that it has received all required regulatory approvals and non-objections to complete its merger with First IC Corporation. On July 15, First IC's shareholders also voted to approve the merger. The merger is expected to be completed early in the fourth quarter of 2025, and remains subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

MetroCity Bankshares, holding company for Metro City Bank, reported net income of $16.3M, or 63c per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2025, compared to $16.2M, or 63c per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2024, and $14.6M, or 57c per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2024. Efficiency ratio of 38.3%, compared to 40.5% for the fourth quarter of 2024 and 37.9% for the first quarter of 2024. Net interest margin was 3.67%, compared to 3.57% for the fourth quarter of 2024 and 3.24% for the first quarter of 2024. Commercial real estate loans increased by $30.1M, or 4.0%, to $792.1M from the previous quarter.
