CME Group Plans to Launch European Dairy Futures Contracts
CME Group announced plans to launch new European dairy futures and options contracts before the end of 2026, pending all regulatory reviews. These products will position CME Group to expand on recent record activity within the Dairy complex, including reaching record monthly open interest of an average 420,922 contracts a day in September, a 42% increase year over year, and an all-time daily open interest record of 461,493 contracts on September 29. The new contracts will be financially settled and will initially track EEX indices before transitioning to CME Group indices. They will be listed on and subject to the rules of CME. CME Group and EEX are also working to transition the EEX Weekly European Cheese Indices and the Pan European Butter Index to CME Group for continued benefit to the industry.

CME Group Completes Initial Cloud Testing, New Platform Expected in 2027
CME Group announced it has completed initial performance testing for CME Globex in the cloud, reaching new milestones in the ongoing migration of its markets, including: Faster round-trip times for trading. Ahead-of-schedule construction of the Aurora Cloud Region and co-location facility. The facility, which will host Google Cloud's new, industry-first specialized platform to support trading of CME Group markets, is targeted to be available for client testing in mid-2027, in addition to the Dallas disaster recovery facility that has been open for testing since June 2026. Livestock market migration to the cloud will take place out of the new Aurora Cloud Region in late 2027. Interim relocation to Dallas is no longer necessary. "We are very pleased to be making faster than anticipated progress on our transition plans to migrate our markets to the cloud," said CME Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Terry Duffy. "Given the accelerated timeline on our Aurora Cloud Region as well as strong initial performance testing, we will deliver the first cloud-based solution for ultra-low latency trading sooner than expected. We will work to ensure our clients can access both Google Cloud-managed services and co-location capabilities in Aurora in late 2027."
CME Group Achieves 9M International ADV in Q3
CME Group announced it achieved international average daily volume, or ADV, of 9M contracts in Q3, up 22% from a year earlier. Reflecting all trading reported outside the United States, this volume was driven largely by growth in Energy products, up 40%, Agricultural products, up 28%, and Equity Index products, up 24%. "Markets remained volatile in the third quarter, with geopolitical issues fueling uncertainty and stoking inflation globally," said Julie Winkler, chief commercial officer at CME Group. "Against this backdrop, customers around the world turned to CME Group to manage their risk, and the growth of our international volumes was testament to that." International trading volume expanded by at least 20% in the period in all regions including Europe, Middle East and Africa, or EMEA, Asia Pacific, or APAC, and Latin America.
