S&P Global Explores Options for Capital IQ Pro, Valuation in Billions

S&P Global is in the early stages of exploring options for its flagship data and research platform Capital IQ Pro, sources told Bloomberg's Todd Gillespie and Ryan Gould. In a spinoff scenario, the unit could fetch a valuation in the high single- digit billions of dollars, said the sources. The successor to legacy platform Capital IQ is a software platform used by finance professionals to conduct research.

S&P Global Completes Sale of Geoscience Software to Schlumberger

S&P Global (SPGI) announced the completion of the divestment of its geoscience and petroleum engineering software portfolio to Schlumberger (SLB). As part of the transaction, S&P Global Energy will continue to distribute its leading proprietary data through the divested geoscience and petroleum engineering workflow tools. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the divestiture is not expected to have a material impact on the financial results of S&P Global, or the Energy division.
