Tempus AI xR Assay Receives EU IVDR Certification
Tempus AI announced that its xR assay has received certification under the European Union's In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation, IVDR, as a Class C in vitro diagnostic device. The certification covers Tempus' quality management system for "next-generation sequencing devices for cancer genomic profiling to support clinical management." xR detects gene rearrangements and specific splice variants in solid tumor tissue to support clinical management. A published study demonstrated that combining Tempus RNA and DNA testing increases detection of clinically actionable gene fusions compared with DNA testing alone.
Pathos AI Announces Strategic Collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb
Pathos AI announced multi-year strategic collaborations with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY) and Tempus AI (TEM) to build a specialized, curated dataset and agentic AI capabilities for Alzheimer's disease and other neurological conditions. BMS also leads Pathos's Series E financing and gains access to Pathos Foundry across its broader R&D portfolio. Tempus will apply the infrastructure and expertise it has built in oncology to create a comprehensive, de-identified, longitudinal dataset from hundreds of thousands of patients with neurological conditions, designed to track outcomes over time and accelerate biological insight. Pathos will license the data from Tempus under a five-year, $55M agreement. Pathos will apply its AI platform, Pathos Foundry, to interrogate the dataset at scale, generate and test hypotheses on disease biology, and inform the design of more targeted, adaptive clinical trials. Pathos built and validated this approach in oncology, where it guides decisions across the company's clinical-stage pipeline, including adapting trial design in real time to improve its projected probability of success. The collaboration builds on BMS's broader strategy to combine advanced AI with deep scientific and disease-area expertise to make faster, higher-confidence decisions that drive innovation for patients. BMS is helping expand the application of Pathos Foundry into neuroscience, securing three-year exclusive rights in an area where the company brings deep research, clinical-development expertise and a growing portfolio of programs in Alzheimer's disease and other neurological conditions. Through multi-year access to the platform across its broader portfolio and the specialized dataset developed through the definitive agreements, BMS aims to generate deeper insights into disease progression, identify patients most likely to benefit from potential therapies and design more precise clinical trials.
Tempus AI Signs Multi-Year Agreement with Bristol Myers Squibb
Tempus AI (TEM) announced a multi-year agreement with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY), under which BMS will license multimodal oncology data from Tempus through 2031 to support biological and clinical insight identification, novel drug target discovery and therapeutic development across its oncology portfolio. With this agreement, BMS significantly expands its strategic relationship with Tempus and becomes one of Tempus's largest licensors of de-identified oncology data. Additionally, BMS will gain access to Tempus' Lens Platform, an AI-first, agentic platform for oncology drug development built on one of the world's largest, real-world multimodal datasets. Connected to GPU infrastructure, this dedicated environment will allow BMS researchers to train and execute advanced AI models using de-identified data to surface breakthroughs faster and increase the probability of technical success when developing candidate therapies at scale.
Tempus AI Announces Results of NSCLC Study
Tempus AI announced results from a study evaluating an AI-enabled pre-screening panel for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer, NSCLC. The panel achieved greater than 80% sensitivity across all 12 biomarkers assessed, with sensitivity exceeding 90% for several biomarkers, supporting its potential to identify patients who may need confirmatory biomarker testing. Results from the study were presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology, ESMO, Congress 2026 in Madrid. "Precision medicine only works when clinicians have the right information at the right time," said Ezra Cohen, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Oncology at Tempus. "These findings demonstrate the potential for AI to extract meaningful information from a pathology image that is already part of routine care and help clinicians determine what testing may be most important next. This builds on our efforts to apply AI to routine diagnostic data to help more patients benefit from precision medicine."
