Seagate Technology Holdings plc provides mass-data storage infrastructure solution. The Company’s principal products are hard disk drives, commonly referred to as disk drives, hard drives (HDDs). In addition to HDDs, the Company produces a range of data storage products, including solid state drives (SSDs), solid state hybrid drives, storage subsystems, as well as a scalable edge-to-cloud mass data platform. Its HDD products are designed for mass capacity storage and legacy markets. Mass capacity storage involves use cases, such as hyperscale data centers and public clouds, as well as emerging use cases. The Company’s HDD and SSD product portfolio includes Serial Advanced Technology Attachment, Serial Attached SCSI and Non-Volatile Memory Express based designs to support a variety of mass capacity and legacy applications. Its systems portfolio includes storage subsystems for enterprises, cloud service providers, scale-out storage servers and original equipment manufacturers.
Seagate Technology Holdings PLC is a good buy right now, trading at $783 with a forward P/E ratio of 25.71, which suggests it is undervalued relative to its growth potential. The company has shown impressive revenue growth, with Q4 2026 revenue reaching $3.629 billion, up from $2.325 billion in Q2 2025. However, the main risk is the recent insider selling, which has increased by 345% over the last month, indicating potential concerns among insiders about the stock's short-term performance.

AI is still accelerating, but storage stocks have remained under pressure. Not long ago, the storage sector was one of the clearest pure plays in the market for betting on AI infrastructure buildout. Memory and storage stocks were priced for a multi-year supercycle, with tight supply, rising prices, and explosive data center demand. Now that narrative is being tested in real time. Related stocks including Kioxia, SanDisk, Western Digital, and Seagate have pulled back one after another. Micron has also seen significant volatility. This selloff is no longer just short-term profit-taking after a sharp rally. Three deeper issues are driving the divergence. 1. Valuation: Has AI growth already been fully priced in? The sector's fundamentals have been extremely strong — several companies posted revenue and earnings growth of hundreds of percent — but valuation expansion has been even faster. When a sector becomes this crowded, any sign of added supply or capex coming in below expectations can trigger a rapid valuation reset. Recent China-related news (CXMT's progress on higher-density memory cell architectures) and broader concerns about AI spending have given investors reasons to take profits. 2. Competition: Can new technology and new players reshape the industry? The storage industry has long been an oligopoly with high barriers to entry. That remains largely true in advanced HBM and cutting-edge NAND, but incremental progress from Chinese producers and capacity plans (including earlier signals about Toshiba expanding HDD capacity) are forcing the market to reassess how long the tightest supply conditions can last. Even if Chinese manufacturers remain years behind on the highest-performance products, the mere possibility of more supply is enough to compress valuation multiples in a sector that previously commanded a premium for scarcity. 3. Divergence: Why are Micron, SanDisk, and Western Digital moving differently? Not all storage products are the same. Pure memory companies (especially those with high HBM exposure and long-term data center contracts) remain closely tied to AI training and inference demand. HDD-heavy companies are more sensitive to nearline storage capacity announcements and enterprise budget cycles. Companies with higher flash exposure fall in between, benefiting from enterprise SSD growth while also being affected by broader NAND pricing dynamics. As a result, the sector is no longer moving in lockstep. Fundamentals can still be strong, but share prices will diverge based on product mix, contract visibility, and how the market judges competitive threats. The long-term logic of AI storage demand growth is not the same thing as short-term stock price swings. AI infrastructure still needs large amounts of high-bandwidth memory, enterprise SSDs, and high-capacity HDDs. Supply constraints in the most advanced segments have not disappeared overnight. But the market is pricing the speed of change and the risk of mean reversion. After a parabolic rally, even a healthy cycle can see sharp pullbacks as crowded positioning unwinds. Which storage company are you watching most closely right now? Has this pullback changed your trading plan? Before rebuilding positions, are you waiting for clearer signs on Chinese manufacturers' capacity timeline, next quarter's pricing commentary, or overall AI infrastructure spending stabilizing? $STX: all 3 of my "BTD" rules are satisfied here so far...should soon get support from 2 shorter cycles. Buy the pink...etc.

$SOL is at 107.3, down 4.15% in 24h, with 296.6M USDT in volume; MA5=108.13 is still above MA20=107.418, the MACD histogram at +0.242 remains bullish, but RSI has fallen back to 44.6, price is near the lower Bollinger Band at 104.629, and the Fear & Greed Index at 57 is in greed territory. On the funding side, price is drifting lower while MACD has not turned negative and the moving averages have not crossed bearishly, suggesting bullish leverage has not yet been broadly forced out, but pullbacks during greedy sentiment are often a high-incidence zone for wick-driven stop hunts — the key in the long-short battle is whether the 104.6 lower band can hold. My view: short-term bias is long, but only on a pullback confirmation, not chasing highs. Entry reference 105.0–106.2 (scaling in above the lower Bollinger Band); take-profit 1 at 108.1 (MA5 resistance, also the short-term moving average repair target); take-profit 2 at 110.2 (upper Bollinger Band, near the prior high supply zone); stop-loss at 102.8 (a valid break below the lower band with RSI losing 40 would be seen as a breakdown of the bullish structure). If price breaks below 104.6 on volume, the long thesis is invalidated and I would step aside. Also watching: $RA, $STX, with $RAY RSI at only 32.4 already approaching oversold, and $STX up 9% against the trend as the relative strongest, usable as a sentiment reference. (Personal view only, for reference only, not any investment advice. Futures risk is extremely high, please strictly control position size.)
