Netflix, Inc. is a provider of entertainment services. The Company acquires, licenses and produces content, including original programming. It provides paid memberships in over 190 countries offering television (TV) series, films and games across a variety of genres and languages. It allows members to play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time. The Company offers members the ability to receive streaming content through a host of Internet-connected devices, including TVs, digital video players, TV set-top boxes and mobile devices. It is engaged in scaling its streaming service, such as introducing games and advertising on its service, as well as offering live programming. It is developing technology and utilizing third-party cloud computing, technology and other services. The Company is also engaged in scaling its own studio operations to produce original content.
Netflix is currently not a strong buy due to its recent performance and outlook. The current price is $65.85, with an RSI of 33.062 indicating oversold conditions. The forward P/E ratio is 18.69, suggesting that the stock is fairly valued compared to its earnings growth potential. However, the stock has declined 39.84% over the past year, and the latest earnings report showed an 11.8% revenue growth, the slowest in three years, which raises concerns about future profitability. The main risk is the projected 11.5% revenue growth for Q4, which may not meet investor expectations, leading to further declines.

$NFLX In the short term, financial markets act like emotional voting machines, influenced by liquidity flows, sentiment, and macro noise, but over time, stock prices tend to follow earnings.

$NFLX looks too cheap here. I'm not saying it stops going down today, since some large capital drains are running at full power and monthly streaming subscriptions are not the theme of the year or likely to show up on growth investors' radar. But you are buying quality earnings growth at a below-market multiple in a global household name, and market sentiment will change. A dividend will probably come soon too to attract new investors as growth slows with scale, though top line is still up 50% since 2023.

American Express just announced it will cut about 5% of its workforce. Netflix announced about 6% layoffs in the same week it reported earnings. Meanwhile, earnings for S&P 500 companies are expected to grow more than 30% this quarter. Read that again. Companies are cutting jobs while profits are soaring. I'm not saying this to scare anyone. This is just how businesses operate. They want maximum output at the lowest cost, and AI is making that easier. Your job is not your safety net. Most companies will only pay you enough so you don't quit. The way to protect yourself is to own top companies and buy when the price is right. When they become more efficient, owners get richer — that means shareholders. Earn as much as you can at work, put every extra dollar into your brokerage account, and buy excellent companies at reasonable prices. There are plenty of opportunities out there. If you play it right, you can make a lot of money.

I'm planning to start bottom-fishing NFLX, same as with NKE. After the last earnings drop, I figure institutions will quietly start buying. That's the shameless part of Wall Street. Analyzing Wall Street's human nature is a million times more important than analyzing a company's financials. I won't touch a single share of semiconductor AI. Now do you see why semiconductors, despite such broad prospects—on one hand, as Jin Shanghao put it, they should "rise beyond all recognition"—have actually just kept drifting lower? Feel free to laugh at me all you want. See you at the end of the year. 😁😁
