Evolution Metals Secures 754 Tons of Neodymium to Support $400M to $460M 2027 Revenue Guidance
Evolution Metals announced that it has secured approximately 754 metric tons of neodymium metal, sourced entirely outside China, which the company expects is sufficient for approximately 50% of the feedstock it requires to deliver its full-year 2027 revenue guidance of $400M to $460M. The total includes approximately 42 metric tons already delivered to Pohang, 72 metric tons pending shipment through March 2027, and 640 metric tons committed through the end of 2027, including a 600-metric-ton contract with Senri Trading for rapid delivery, with a further 1,000 metric tons in discussion for 2027 delivery. For heavy rare earths, the company holds approximately 520 kilograms of dysprosium metal in Pohang, with 1.5 metric tons per month committed starting in February 2027. With feedstock in place, EM&T has now put together all ten factors it believes are required to manufacture rare earth magnets at large commercial scale: land, power, equipment, permits, operators, feedstock, magnets, buyers, buyer certifications, and capital. The disclosure addresses what EM&T sees as the real constraint on magnet supply outside China. Rare earth ore is not scarce. What is scarce is converting that ore into midstream materials to support downstream magnet production. EM&T believes that upon completion of its current expansion it will be one of the largest known in-production magnet and magnet materials producer outside China, with feedstock independent of China in place, and is now commissioning all 57 containers of ULVAC equipment to expand annual capacity from approximately 1,000 metric tons to more than 10,000 metric tons. That position is also drawing sellers to the company. Producers of rare earth ore and upstream feedstock have historically had one meaningful buyer, China, and EM&T believes it is one of the few credible buyers outside China that is producing downstream products, including magnets, at commercial scale. Selling to EM&T lets those producers diversify their customer base, and the company is in dialogue with sellers of rare earth feedstock and end-of-life magnets in the U.S., Japan, India, West Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. EM&T's grain boundary diffusion technology reduces its heavy rare earth requirements: the company requires approximately 0.5% heavy rare earths, such as dysprosium and terbium, to produce high-performance sintered magnets, compared with the 3% to 4% historically required, stretching its heavy rare earth feedstock six to eight times further.
Evolution Metals Submits Capability Statement for Rare Earth Magnets
Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. announced that it has submitted a capability statement in response to the U.S. Army's Sources Sought notice for rare earth magnets used in the brushless DC motors of small uncrewed aircraft systems. The U.S. Army Contracting Command issued the Sources Sought notice, a Request for Information, "as part of its market research to identify companies with the interest and capability to manufacture and supply commercial-grade rare earth magnets." The RFI lists neodymium-iron-boron arc-segment magnets in grade N52SH or N42SH. EM&T can produce eight sintered neodymium-iron-boron magnet grades: N35SH, N42SH, N46SH, N48SH, N42H, N45H, N48M and N50M. EM&T commercially produces N42SH at its facility in Pohang, Republic of Korea, where the grade has completed customer qualification, and plans to expand annual magnet capacity there from approximately 1,000 metric tons to approximately 10,000 metric tons following the installation and commissioning of the 57 containers of ULVAC production equipment. In its response, EM&T proposed a staged path to qualify magnets to the Army's specifications and an auditable mine-to-magnet traceability record for each production lot, in line with DFARS 252.225-7052 sourcing requirements that expand on January 1, 2027.
Evolution Metals Completes Delivery of 57 Equipment Units in Pohang, Korea
Evolution Metals announced that all 57 containers of ULVAC sintered magnet-production equipment have arrived at its expanded Pohang facility in the Republic of Korea, with commissioning scheduled to begin this November. The equipment supports an expected tenfold increase in annual rare earth magnet production capacity in Pohang-from approximately 1,000 metric tons to approximately 10,000 metric tons, including approximately 6,000 metric tons of high-performance sintered magnets-once installation and commissioning are completed. The company believes it is the single largest producer of rare earth magnets globally, ex-China, at more than 10k metric tons per annum.
Evolution Metals Receives ULVAC Magnet Equipment
Evolution Metals announced that it has taken delivery of additional magnet equipment from ULVAC at its Pohang facility, with thirteen of 57 containers arriving today and the remaining containers to be delivered before the end of October. The thirteen additional ULVAC machines are the core of EM&T's ten-fold capacity expansion and underpin its previously announced fiscal 2027 revenue guidance of $400M to $460M, which the company reaffirms. The expansion positions EM&T as a scaled, non-China source of high-performance rare earth permanent magnets for U.S. defense, unmanned aircraft systems and automotive supply chains across the United States and allied markets. The delivery comes ahead of DFARS 252.225-7052, effective January 1, 2027, which will prohibit U.S. defense contractors from using rare earth magnets containing materials mined, refined, separated, melted or produced in China, Russia, North Korea or Iran.
Evolution Metals Signs Strategic Partnership LOI with INERGX
Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. announced a Strategic Partnership Letter of Intent with UK-based INERGX Energy Optimisation Ltd. to engineer, supply, integrate and service the energy storage and power optimization systems for EM&T's planned critical materials and battery black mass recovery facility in the United States - a site planned at approximately 1 GW of on-site capacity within two years and up to approximately 5 GW at full build-out, powered by on-site LNG generation. EM&T will provide its site inputs within two weeks of signing, INERGX will deliver the First Block Study within eight weeks of receipt, and the parties intend to work toward definitive agreements for the first block within twelve weeks of the study's delivery and acceptance, so that the first block can be ordered in step with EM&T's generation and site program.
