Oil prices are approaching $110, and crypto also needs to keep a close eye on this strait. Over the weekend it looked like news about oil tankers, but on Monday it could affect everyone's positions. On October 17, Iran's Revolutionary Guard said two oil tankers struck mines and caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz. However, the claim still lacks independent confirmation, and specific losses cannot be treated as settled fact. On prices, in the latest trading session, October 16, Brent crude closed at $109.86, up 3.7% on the day; WTI closed at $101.41, up 3.5%. The two rose 4.9% and 10.4% respectively for the week. Note that these are Friday closing prices and do not yet reflect the follow-through impact of Saturday's news. My concern is that if shipping risks persist, what rises is not only crude costs, but also insurance, transport, and business operating costs. If oil prices stay elevated for a long time, it will be harder for inflation to fall back, and the easing the market hopes for may also be reduced. This transmission chain is not friendly to risk assets that depend on liquidity. In crypto, I would not simply read "escalation" as bitcoin. If short-term funds deleverage first, both BTC and altcoins could come under pressure, and the latter especially needs attention on liquidity. Next, the focus is on the crude open, actual navigation conditions, and whether there is verifiable progress toward de-escalation. Negotiation statements can lift sentiment, but whether ships can pass safely is what determines whether the pressure can truly ease.

✨ The global energy market is at a complex intersection, with tightening physical inventories, persistent inflation, and escalating geopolitical risks all intertwined. 🔹 WTI crude is near $100.79 and Brent is near $111.90, reflecting a structural risk premium driven by supply-side constraints and broad macroeconomic pressure. The underlying data suggest the market is balancing between immediate supply shortages and longer-term demand adjustment. 📊 The data behind the structural tightness: 🔹 Supply-side constraints: ▪️ The EIA estimates global oil inventories will fall by about 1.9 million barrels per day in Q3 2026, with a further decline of 700,000 barrels per day expected in Q4. ▪️ OECD commercial inventories are expected to fall below 2.3 billion barrels by December 2026, the lowest level since 2003. ▪️ U.S. crude production is expected to average about 13.83 million barrels per day in 2026, with growth driven more by well productivity gains than by an increase in rig counts. 🔹 Geopolitical risk premium: ▪️ Shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz remain a key variable. On October 13, daily oil shipments through the waterway fell to 12.6 million barrels, down from 15 million barrels per day in late September. ▪️ Escalating tensions in the Middle East and Eastern Europe continue to push up freight and war-risk premiums for physical crude, widening the gap between paper and spot markets. 🔹 Macroeconomic pressure: ▪️ U.S. September PPI rose 1.3% month over month and 6.3% year over year, the fastest annual pace in four years; CPI rose 0.6% month over month, driven mainly by a 10% surge in fuel costs. ▪️ Fed officials have taken a hawkish stance. Swap market pricing shows a 29% probability of a rate hike in October and an 86% probability in December. ▪️ U.S. commercial crude inventories fell sharply by more than 8 million barrels, partly due to weather-related supply disruptions in the Gulf of Mexico. ⚖️ Structural perspective: 🔹 From a long-term and dialectical perspective, the current market setup is not driven by a single catalyst but by the combination of physical supply shortages and macroeconomic recalibration. ▪️ The EIA forecasts global oil demand will fall by 1.1 million barrels per day in 2026, reflecting demand destruction from high prices. However, demand is forecast to rebound to 105.3 million barrels per day in 2027, suggesting the structural demand base remains solid as long as supply flows normalize. ▪️ The risk premium embedded in current prices reflects immediate logistical constraints rather than a permanent shift in the supply-demand balance. As the EIA notes, when traffic through the Strait of Hormuz returns to pre-conflict levels remains the core variable for medium-term price direction. ▪️ For risk assets, the transmission channel is clear: elevated energy costs reinforce the persistent inflation narrative, which in turn continues to weigh on rate expectations. This dynamic leaves both traditional and digital assets in a phase of cautious recalibration. 🔹 In your market outlook, how do you weigh the impact of energy supply constraints against the evolving rate path? 👇 #Oil #Macro #Inflation #Energy #WeeklyShare $CL Not financial advice. $BZ $XBRUSD $XTIUSD

Brent crude touched $110, the first time since May. The trigger is Hormuz. Iran said the strait is closed again and threatened to strike ships trying to pass; hours later, reports said Trump is preparing to act against Iran within 24 hours. Oil pushed from 106.65 all the way to near 110, closing at 109.86 yesterday. This waterway carries about one-fifth of the world's seaborne crude. When it tightens, inflation expectations rise too — Lagarde warned today about upside inflation risks. Yet the market is still pricing only a 17% chance of a rate hike in October. The two sides' expectations are completely at odds. Crypto's reaction is honest: BTC fell back to around 81,500, and all four spot ETF categories saw net outflows on the same day. It hasn't become a safe-haven asset — it's still that high-beta risk exposure. My read is that this round has nothing to do with "digital gold" — it's purely liquidity pricing. If oil holds above 110, what gets hit first is valuations, not narratives. Which side are you on: will this geopolitical conflict push BTC into becoming a true safe-haven asset, or will it prove once again that it's just an amplifier of risk assets?

$BZ Crude oil surged, US stocks plunged, and Trump just spoke again! What should we do now? Am I right about what the real investment opportunity is for ordinary people? "Over the next two months, buy crude oil on dips while shorting US stocks" — I called this trend 50 days in advance on August 26. At that time, crude oil BZ was at 86, and today it hit 110! (Please open the candlestick chart and check whether that was the second bottom-fishing entry.) Then US stocks crashed this week, with many heavyweight and tech stocks pulling back sharply by 20%-40%. Just one hour ago, Trump spoke about US stocks, so we can use Trump's move to guide our operations: 1. Close all short US stock positions to take profit, and selectively bottom-fish. 2. Short crude oil (short-term swing trade; long-term view remains bullish). #BrentCrudeOilTouches110ForFirstTimeSinceMay #CryptoMarketPullback $BTC $CL

$BTC Inflation alarm bells are ringing again. Brent crude intraday touched $110. First time since May. Global risk assets under pressure. Yesterday's oil move hit the crypto market right where it hurts. Brent crude broke above $110/barrel for the first time since May, finally settling at $109.86, up 3.7% on the day. US WTI crude also rose to $101.41, with a cumulative weekly gain of over 10%. Why so sudden? This isn't a gas station owner quietly adjusting prices. It's escalating tensions in the Middle East and disrupted Russian energy supply making the market worry again about oil shortages. Oil prices are now closely tied to crypto trading. The more oil rises, the more transport and production costs tend to follow, and inflation pressure may pick up again. The Fed already has to think about where rates go next. If oil adds more fuel to the fire, rate cuts will likely become even harder. So, everyone, The decline itself isn't over yet. Combined with inflation and oil prices, it looks necessary.
