Foremost Clean Energy Completes Phase 2 Agreement with Denison Mines
Foremost Clean Energy (FMST) announced it will have completed the Phase 2 earn-in requirements under its Option Agreement closed with Denison Mines (DNN) upon issuing to Denison up to 848,610 common shares in the capital of Foremost valued at $2M. "Achieving the completion of Phase 2 approximately 15 months ahead of our contractual obligations represents a major milestone for Foremost. Earning a majority interest in our uranium portfolio reflects our commitment to uranium exploration, and positions Foremost to continue advancing high-priority uranium targets at a time when global demand for secure uranium supply and nuclear energy continues to strengthen," said Jason Barnard, president and CEO of Foremost.
Denison Mines Receives PBCN Support for Wheeler River Project
Denison Mines reported that Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, or PBCN, has withdrawn its judicial review application previously filed in the Court of King's Bench for Saskatchewan related to the Environmental Assessment approval granted by the Province of Saskatchewan for the Phoenix In-Situ Recovery uranium mine. As a result of further engagement with PBCN, Denison is also pleased to report that PBCN has now formally provided its consent to and support for the development and operation of Denison's Wheeler River Project in northern Saskatchewan.
Denison Mines Receives Licence for Wheeler River Project Construction
Denison Mines announced that the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has released the decision of its administrative tribunal approving the Environmental Assessment and issuing the Licence to Prepare Site & Construct a Mine and Mill for the Wheeler River Uranium Project. With the EA having previously been approved by the Province of Saskatchewan, and other provincial approvals necessary to commence construction already received, federal approval of the EA and the issuance of the Licence represent the final regulatory approvals required to commence construction of the Phoenix In-Situ Recovery uranium mine. The CNSC's decision to approve the EA and grant the Licence for the Project was informed by CNSC Staff recommendations and public input, with the regulatory process culminating in a two-part public hearing that was held in October and December. A draft Licence was presented by the CNSC staff to the Commission at the Hearing part one proceedings, on October 8. The draft Licence proposed several conditions requiring closure by Denison prior to site construction activities, which the Denison team has worked diligently to satisfy. As a result of this preemptive work, and with the receipt of the Licence, Denison is in a position to immediately proceed with site preparation and commence construction activities as soon as a final investment decision is made.
