Varo Bank Launches Fee-Free Digital Cash Add Capabilities
Varo Bank recently announced the launch of fee-free digital cash add capabilities for Varo customers across more than 2,000 Kroger Family of store locations. Powered by Green Dot's embedded finance platform and money processing network, this expansion launched as a four-week pilot program supported by a comprehensive co-marketing campaign reaching both existing and prospective customers. "Nobody should have to pay a fee just to deposit their own money," said Gavin Michael, chief executive officer at Varo Bank. "Now that Varo customers can add cash fee-free at stores nationwide, they can take care of their banking right in the grocery line. With this new offering, we are making it as simple as possible for our customers to manage their cash where they already shop."
Treasury Prime Launches Prime Cash for Seamless Cash Additions
Treasury Prime announced the launch of Prime Cash, enabling its fintech partners to offer their customers more seamless, secure and convenient ways to add cash directly to digital accounts. Powered by Green Dot's embedded finance platform, Arc, Prime Cash enables users to add cash to their accounts at more than 90,000 participating Green Dot Network retail locations nationwide.
Green Dot and CommerceOne to Complete Strategic Transaction
The company states: "Green Dot and CommerceOne Financial announced that each company's respective shareholders have voted to approve the previously announced strategic transaction involving Green Dot, CommerceOne and Smith Ventures, LLC at each company's Special Meeting of Stockholders. The transactions are expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026, subject to approval by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Alabama State Banking Department and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions."
