Descartes Systems Aids K&R International in Automating EU Security Filings
Descartes Systems announced that Michigan-based K&R International Services, K&R, is using Descartes' global security filing solution to automate European Union Import Control System 2 security filings for charter cargo carriers carrying large volumes of individual ecommerce shipments. With the Descartes solution, K&R can standardize high-volume ecommerce air shipment data and automate hundreds of thousands of regulatory submissions per month, helping the company manage tight air cargo security processing windows and maintain responsive customer service as volumes grow.
Descartes Acquires Tai for Approximately $100M
Descartes Systems announced the acquisition of Tai. Tai provides an AI-powered transportation management platform that serves as the system of action for freight brokers, orchestrating the entire shipment lifecycle across truckload, less-than-truckload, drayage, and cross-border operations. Tai is headquartered in California. Descartes acquired Tai Software for approximately $100M, satisfied from cash on hand.
Descartes Acquires Drivin for Approximately $30 Million
Descartes Systems announced the acquisition of Drivin. Drivin is headquartered in Santiago, Chile. Descartes acquired Drivin for up-front consideration of approximately $30M satisfied with cash on hand, plus potential performance-based consideration. The maximum amount payable under the all-cash performance-based earn-out is $5M, based on the combined business achieving revenue-based targets in the first two years post-acquisition. Any earn-out is expected to be paid in fiscal 2029.
Descartes Q1 Revenue of $193.6M Beats Expectations
Reports Q1 revenue $193.6M, consensus $191.35M. RBC Maintains Descartes Price Target at $126
RBC Capital analyst Paul Treiber keeps an Outperform rating and $126 price target on Descartes Systems ahead of its Q1 earnings. The company's results may surprise to the upside amid continued organic growth momentum against conservative consensus estimates, the analyst tells investors in a research note. With likely continued organic growth and contribution from the $28M Idelic acquisition, RBC adds that it expects Q2 baseline to exceed consensus as well.
