U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yield Falls to Near One-Month Lows
The yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury note fell on Tuesday, hovering near one-month lows, following weaker housing data while investors also continued to assess persistent inflationary pressures ahead of the Fed's interest rate decision next week. The Fed is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged next week, while markets anticipate a 25 basis point rate hike in December. Apple Downgraded to Hold with Price Target Cut to $330
Stock futures are lower as renewed weakness in AI-related stocks looks set to erase some of Monday's rebound. Investors remain concerned about the debt and financing costs underpinning the AI infrastructure buildout. Meanwhile, oil prices are climbing, with Brent crude near $111 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate around $100.55, as escalating Middle East tensions and reports of attacks on vessels in the Gulf raise concerns about supply disruptions. Higher energy prices are adding to inflation worries following hotter-than-expected September CPI and PPI readings, while the 10-year Treasury yield is holding near 5.14%. The combination of elevated oil prices and borrowing costs continues to challenge equity valuations, particularly for growth stocks that rely on future earnings to justify current prices. In pre-market trading, S&P 500 futures fell 0.13%, Nasdaq futures fell 0.41% and Dow futures were about flat.Check out this morning's top movers from around Wall Street, compiled by The Fly.HIGHER -Alvotechup 8% after announcing that the FDA has approved a new manufacturing process for Simlandi, the company's biosimilar to HumiraUP AFTER EARNINGS -Equifaxup 6%Halliburtonup 4%RTXup 2%MSCIup 2%3Mup 1%Northrop Grummanup 1%KeyCorpup 1%DOWN AFTER EARNINGS -Genuine Partsdown 9%General Motorsdown 6%Mueller Industriesdown 4%GE Aerospacedown 3%Synchronydown 2%Hasbrodown 1%LOWER -Appledown 1% after Loop Capital downgraded the stock to Hold with a price target of $330, down from $370
Apple Expands Partnerships with U.S. Companies for iPhone 18 Pro Production
Apple (AAPL) announced new and expanded partnerships with American companies that are supplying critical materials and components for iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. Through its American Manufacturing Program, Apple is partnering with Perryman Company, a Pennsylvania-based titanium producer, to supply titanium for Apple products, including iPhone Duo. Apple is also expanding its partnership with Qnity Electronics (Q), headquartered in Delaware, to produce technology for the new variable aperture in the iPhone 18 Pro camera system - the most advanced Apple has ever made. Apple works with suppliers in all 50 states and supports more than 450,000 American jobs. Last year, the company deepened that commitment by launching AMP, aimed at bringing even more advanced manufacturing and critical component production to the United States as part of Apple's $600 billion, four-year commitment to U.S. manufacturing and innovation. The grade 5 titanium enclosure on iPhone Duo is exceptionally strong, providing amazing durability to the first foldable iPhone. Apple will commit up to $100 million over the next three years with Perryman, a family-owned business and a global leader in manufacturing specialty titanium products. At its site in Houston, Pennsylvania, Perryman melts, forges, and rolls titanium with a minimum of 80 percent recycled content for iPhone Duo. Apple is also expanding its partnership with Qnity Electronics to build key camera technology for iPhone 18 Pro in the U.S. Qnity, which joined the American Manufacturing Program in March, will produce advanced films essential to the new variable aperture camera system on iPhone 18 Pro. Variable aperture is at the heart of the new 48MP Fusion Main camera, which enables incredible light and depth control. It's powered by on-device intelligence that automatically lets in more light for darker settings and helps get sharper detail in brighter ones.

For U.S. OEMs, resilient SAAR supports pricing power and higher average transaction prices heading into the quarter, the analyst said, adding that a potential US-Mexico bilateral trade agreement before year-end could represent meaningful upside. The firm further noted that for western suppliers, current valuations look compelling, though China remains the key focus following S&P's latest China production forecast cut.JPMorgan lowered the firm's price target on GM to $110 from $120 and kept an Overweight rating on the shares. The firm sees a "muted setup" for Ford and GM into the Q3 earnings reports, saying preliminary 2027 outlook commentary "is likely to present a cautious tone."
