Teekay Tankers Declares Special Dividend of $1.00 per Share
In addition, the company declared a special dividend of $1.00 per share. The company said, "While the near-term tanker market outlook remains difficult to predict and significantly influenced by highly liquid geopolitical events, we believe Teekay Tankers is well positioned to generate free cash flow and continue to renew our fleet, supported by our low cash flow break-even levels and significant investment capacity. Even as we invest in fleet renewal, we remain in a position to return capital to shareholders as our Board of Directors has approved a special cash dividend of $1.00 per share in addition to our regular fixed quarterly dividend for a combined cash dividend of $1.25 per share."
Teekay Tankers Q1 Revenue $286.09M, Beats Expectations
Reports Q1 revenue $286.09M, consensus $218.72M. "Teekay Tankers posted strong financial results for the first quarter of 2026, generating GAAP net income of $153.6 million and adjusted net income of $128.3 million," commented Kenneth Hvid, Teekay Tankers' President and Chief Executive Officer. "First quarter of 2026 spot rates were close to the highest on record for a first quarter, primarily due to geopolitical events in both Venezuela and Iran. The U.S. blockade and the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, an unprecedented event which has not directly impacted the operations of our vessels, continues to disrupt the oil and tanker markets and has propelled our second quarter of 2026 to-date tanker rates to new record levels. While rates have decreased from the extreme highs in the beginning of the second quarter, we are still chartering vessels at strong rates."
Teekay Tankers Reports Q4 Revenue of $258.27M
Reports Q4 revenue $258.27M vs. $229.02M last year. "Teekay Tankers posted strong financial results for the fourth quarter and full year 2025, generating GAAP net income of $351 million and adjusted net income of $241 million in 2025," commented Kenneth Hvid, Teekay Tankers' president and ChEO. "Mid-sized spot tanker rates during the fourth quarter were the second highest for a fourth quarter in the last 15 years, primarily due to near-record seaborne crude oil trade volumes and growing trade inefficiencies related to sanctions and other geopolitical events. Spot tanker rates are trending even higher so far in the first quarter of 2026, driven by a combination of widening sanctions enforcement, seasonal factors, and added volatility from U.S. action in Venezuela. With our significant exposure to the spot market, Teekay Tankers continues to benefit from these tailwinds."
Teekay Tankers reports Q2 EPS $1.41, consensus $1.40
Reports Q2 revenue $232.87M vs. $328.26M last year. "Teekay Tankers posted strong financial results for the second quarter of 2025, generating GAAP net income of $62.6 million and adjusted net income of $48.7 million," commented Kenneth Hvid, Teekay Tankers' president and CEO. "Spot tanker rates were counter-seasonally strong during the quarter with rates outperforming the last two quarters and at levels well above the historical average for a second quarter. So far in the third quarter, we have seen rates soften slightly in line with normal seasonal trends. Looking ahead, with OPEC+ unwinding production cuts at an accelerated pace, an increase in non-OPEC+ production in the Atlantic Basin, and low global oil inventories, we believe Teekay Tankers is well-positioned to benefit from the potential seasonal tanker demand uplift later in the year."
