MiniMed Launches New Flex System for More Diabetes Patients
MiniMed announced that Medicare and Medicare Advantage beneficiaries now have access to the MiniMed Flex system with its latest sensor portfolio. This milestone now makes the company's smallest and only app-controlled insulin pump system available to more people living with diabetes. Designed to fit more naturally into everyday life, MiniMed Flex helps reduce the daily burden of diabetes management so people can focus more on the moments that matter to them. MiniMed Flex is about half the size of previous MiniMed pumps and roughly the size of two stacked insulin vials, offering a sleek, compact design while still holding 300 units of insulin. Powered by the same SmartGuard technology of the MiniMed 780G system, this system automatically adjusts insulin delivery every five minutes, day and night.
MiniMed Expands Board to 11 Members
MiniMed announced that David Endicott and Linnea Burman have joined its Board of Directors, effective June 29, expanding the Board from nine to 11 members. Endicott will serve as a member of the Board's Compensation and Talent Committee.
MiniMed Launches MiniMed 780G and MiniMed Go Systems in Europe
MiniMed (MMED) announced the commercial launch in Europe of both the MiniMed 780G system integrated with the Instinct sensor and the MiniMed Go system integrated with the Instinct Go sensor. The Instinct and Instinct Go sensors, made by Abbott (ABT), will be rolled out gradually across Europe starting this month, expanding MiniMed's sensor portfolio in the region.
MiniMed Launches First MiniMed Flex System in the U.S.
MiniMed announced its first commercial launch of the MiniMed Flex system in the U.S.- its first app-controlled pump and the company's smallest insulin pump yet. The system launches with Simplera Sync sensor, a disposable, all-in-one sensor with easy two-step insertion. The launch with the Instinct sensor, made by Abbott, will follow later this summer. For years, people who use insulin pumps have had to think about where and how they wear their device each day. While diabetes technology has advanced, many still had to choose between clinical performance and a pump that works with their lifestyle. Few products have offered both. The MiniMed Flex system is powered by MiniMed's most advanced SmartGuard algorithm - the only system with Meal Detection(TM) technology that detects rapid rises in sensor glucose and delivers a correction dose for occasional missed meal boluses or underestimated carb counts. The MiniMed Flex system is FDA cleared for people with type 1 diabetes ages 7 years and older, as well as adults ages 18 years and older with insulin-requiring type 2 diabetes. Reimbursement support and access programs are available through MiniMed's customer support team.
