City Holding Company Declares $1.00 Dividend per Share
City Holding Company, the parent company of City National Bank of West Virginia, declared a dividend of $1.00 per common share for shareholders of record as of October 15. The dividend is payable on October 30. The dividend represents a 15% increase from the 87c per share cash dividend paid in the second quarter of 2026. "City's board today once again reaffirmed the Company's commitment of returning value to its shareholders by voting to approve an increase in the quarterly cash dividend of 13 cents to $1.00 per quarter. The decision to increase the dividend to $4.00 on an annualized basis is based on the Company's current strong capital and liquidity position, our financial performance during 2026, and our confidence in the Company's ability to sustain this performance," stated Charles Hageboeck, President and CEO.

The Company's net interest income increased approximately $1.2 million, or 1.9%, from $59.6 million during the first quarter of 2026 to $60.8 million during the second quarter of 2026. The Company's tax equivalent net interest income increased approximately $1.1 million, or 1.9%, from $59.9 million for the first quarter of 2026 to $61.0 million for the second quarter of 2026.

Reports tangible book value per share $45.14. The Company continues to be strongly capitalized with tangible equity of $637 million at March 31, 2026. The Company's tangible equity ratio decreased from 9.9% at December 31, 2025 to 9.7% at March 31, 2026. At March 31, 2026, City National's Leverage Ratio was 9.2%, its Common Equity Tier I ratio was 14.4%, its Tier I Capital ratio was 14.4%, and its Total Risk-Based Capital ratio was 14.8%.
City Holding Authorizes Buyback of 1M Common Shares
City Holding's board authorized the company to buy back up to 1M of its common shares, approximately 7% of outstanding shares, in open market transactions at prices that are accretive to the EPS of continuing shareholders. No time limit has been placed on the duration of the share repurchase program. The company rescinded the previous share repurchase plan approved January 31, 2024. Through March 25, 2026, the company repurchased 822,634 shares under the January 2024 plan.

City's profitability is among the best in the nation, and our stock price relative to book value is one of the highest in the nation. I believe that this is specifically because our focus is on growing our customer base, engaging within our communities, and striving to be a good employer. That is what I think any good community bank should be doing and is our current focus and strategy."
