AST SpaceMobile Signs LOI with Deutsche Telekom and Others
AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) welcomes the Letter of Intent signed by its mobile network operator partners Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY), Orange (ORANY), Telefonica (TEF) and Vodafone (VOD) to explore a potential joint bid for Mobile Satellite Services spectrum as AST SpaceMobile continues to advance service readiness across Europe. The collaboration among Europe's four largest mobile network operators is expected to accelerate network integration, improve the customer experience and extend coverage into areas without reliable mobile connectivity. The initiative supports a coordinated approach to spectrum access and service deployment, strengthening European digital data sovereignty while enabling operators to deliver space-based cellular broadband through their existing mobile services. AST SpaceMobile's existing European joint venture, Satellite Connect Europe, AST SpaceMobile is providing a dedicated network of European-operated ground infrastructure that link its BlueBird satellites with mobile operators' core networks. This infrastructure is designed to support coverage across Europe, a market with over 500 million mobile subscribers, while keeping data handling and service control within European jurisdiction. Operators retain their customer relationships as satellite connectivity extends the reach of their terrestrial networks.

IQM and Telefonica Sign Agreement to Install Quantum Computers in Spain
IQM Quantum Computers and Telefonica have joined forces to sign a purchase agreement with the Galician Supercomputing Center, or CESGA, to install two full-stack quantum computers in Spain. Under the agreement, IQM will deliver and install a 54-qubit IQM Radiance, designed for integration into high-performance computing centres, together with a five-qubit IQM Spark system dedicated to education. The systems are scheduled for delivery by June 2026. The deployment will expand CESGA's advanced computing capabilities and strengthen its role as a key national and European research infrastructure. This will be the first installation of IQM quantum computers in Spain. The systems will be complemented by a new supercomputer, the Finisterrae IV, which will provide additional computing power to meet needs in artificial intelligence, among others, and a data storage system. "Quantum computing will become an important pillar of future digital infrastructure," said Sergio Sanchez, CTIO Telefonica Espana. "Through this collaboration with IQM and CESGA, Telefonica is helping bring advanced computing capabilities closer to researchers and enterprises, while supporting Spain's position in next-generation technologies."
