Energy Vault's Digital Vault Project Receives Strategic Recognition from Italian Government
Energy Vault Holdings announced that the Italian Council of Ministers has designated the Digital Vault Sulcis investment program as being of pre-eminent national strategic interest, on the proposal of Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, and with the support of the President of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Alessandra Todde. The designation represents a significant development milestone for Digital Vault Sulcis, recognizing its strategic importance to Italy's digital infrastructure and industrial development while providing an accelerated pathway through the remaining administrative and authorization process. Following the Council of Ministers' decision, a special Government Commissioner is expected to be appointed, in coordination with the relevant regional authorities, to coordinate administrative activities and support accelerated implementation of the program, including the path toward the required single authorization. The government-designated program includes an Edge AI data center of up to approximately 30 MW, integrated with renewable energy generation and storage infrastructure at the Carbosulcis former coal mining complex in Nuraxi Figus, Sardinia. Energy Vault's broader Digital Vault Sulcis master plan is designed for phased expansion, beginning with approximately 30 MW of AI-focused IT capacity and scaling over time toward approximately 50-60 MW of IT capacity and up to 100 MW of total site power capacity.

Energy Vault Signs Strategic Agreement to Support 1.25GW AI Data Centers
Energy Vault Holdings announced the execution of a strategic commercial agreement under which Energy Vault will supply battery energy storage systems, grid-forming power conversion systems and AI infrastructure control software to support an initial deployment totaling 1.25 gigawatts of integrated power infrastructure for hyperscaler AI data centers. The agreement establishes a repeatable AI power infrastructure platform that combines dispatchable power generation, intelligent battery energy storage, grid-forming inverter systems, advanced AI infrastructure controls software and turnkey EPC and plant integration into a single integrated solution designed specifically for hyperscaler AI data centers and high-performance computing campuses. The companies will jointly deploy fully integrated, off-grid power systems capable of bringing AI compute capacity online significantly faster than traditional utility interconnection schedules while providing the reliability, resiliency and operational flexibility required by next-generation AI workloads. Initial deployments are expected over the next four to twelve months, supporting an accelerated speed-to-power schedule that is not dependent on traditional utility interconnection timelines. "Artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing how critical power infrastructure is designed, deployed and operated," said Robert Piconi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Vault. "Customers are no longer procuring individual technologies-they require integrated power infrastructure capable of delivering reliable, always-on electricity at unprecedented speed and scale. With this agreement we have created a highly differentiated platform that combines industry-leading power generation, intelligent energy storage and advanced power plant software into a single integrated solution purpose-built for AI infrastructure." Energy Vault expects a revenue impact of about $500M-$600M in 2H 2026 and 2027, which will be discussed during the upcoming earnings call on August 11, 2026.
