Microchip Acquires Vorago Technologies
Microchip announced that it has acquired Vorago Technologies, a privately held provider of radiation-hardened and radiation-tolerant microcontrollers, or MCUs, and microprocessors, or MPUs, based in Austin, Texas. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the acquisition is not expected to be material to Microchip's consolidated financial results.
Navitas and Microchip Collaborate on 800V DC Reference Design
Navitas Semiconductor (NVTS) and Microchip (MCHP) have collaborated on an 800V DC-to-6V DC reference design for AI data center rack power applications. The platform combines Microchip's digital power control and security technologies with Navitas' GaNFast gallium nitride power devices to give developers a practical path to implement high-efficiency power conversion aligned with the Open Compute Project 800V DC standard. Complete with reference hardware, software and design documentation, the solution helps reduce design risk, shorten development cycles and accelerate deployment of next-generation AI infrastructure.
Microchip Technology Completes Acquisition of Hailo
Microchip Technology announced that it has completed its acquisition of Hailo. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on Microchip's financial results. "Joining Microchip opens exciting opportunities for our customers, partners and developer community," said Orr Danon, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hailo. "Microchip's global reach, customer relationships and embedded systems expertise provide a powerful platform for expanding access to advanced Edge AI and vision technologies. As part of Microchip, we are well positioned to accelerate innovation and help customers bring intelligent systems to market faster."
Asahi Kasei Microdevices Partners with Microchip on New Current Sensors
Asahi Kasei Microdevices announced that its CZ39 series and CZ3K series coreless current sensors have been adopted as key enabling components of Microchip Technology Inc.'s Machine Learning / AI-based Arc Fault Detection reference design featuring a dsPIC33A Digital Signal Controller. This collaboration demonstrates how AKM's current sensing technology and Microchip's dsPIC33A real-time signal-processing and edge machine-learning capabilities can be combined to support accurate and reliable arc fault detection. The dsPIC33A DSC executes the signal-processing and inference algorithms directly on the controller, enabling local decision making without external processing resources.
Marelli and Microchip Launch New Solution for Automotive Displays
Marelli and Microchip announced a new solution that enables graphics and video content generated by a vehicle's central computer to be streamed directly to automotive displays using ASA Motion Link. "The transition to software-defined vehicles is driving demand for more open, flexible and scalable electronic architectures," said Kelei Shen, President of Marelli's Electronics business. "As an integrator within the automotive ecosystem, Marelli brings together best-in-class technologies from multiple partners to deliver complete solutions for vehicle makers. This collaboration highlights how open standards can accelerate innovation while providing interoperability needed for the next generation of vehicle architectures."
