IPG Photonics Q2 Revenue at $278.58M, Slightly Below Expectations
Reports Q2 revenue $278.58M, consensus $279.97M. "We delivered our third consecutive quarter of double-digit year-over-year revenue growth, with revenue above the midpoint of our guidance and adjusted gross margin and adjusted EPS above our expectations," said Mark Gitin, Chief Executive Officer of IPG Photonics. "Industrial Solutions generated strong revenue growth, supported by robust demand and disciplined execution across different markets and applications, particularly in battery manufacturing. Advanced Solutions revenue benefited from our continued focus on key strategic initiatives, resulting in strong sales growth in semiconductor applications. We see continued interest in our CROSSBOW directed energy system. Additionally, our recently announced acquisition of Lumibird Medical will further accelerate our strategic expansion into attractive medical markets in Advanced Solutions."

IPG Photonics to Acquire Lumibird Medical for €300M
IPG Photonics has entered into a binding offer to acquire Lumibird Medical. The transaction is expected to deliver financial benefits by adding a high-margin business that is accretive to gross margin, EBITDA and adjusted EPS. IPG believes that the combined medical businesses will create a scaled medical laser platform for growth with complementary established leadership in ophthalmology and urology. The company expects that this also adds approximately $1B in addressable market for Advanced Solutions. IPG intends to acquire Lumibird Medical for a purchase price of EUR300M on a cash-free, debt-free basis. The purchase price will be paid in cash at closing. A contingent earnout consideration of up to EUR50M additional in cash is based on achieving certain 2026 and 2027 performance metrics. The acquisition will be funded with cash on hand.
