Iovance's Lifileucel Monotherapy Shows Unprecedented Efficacy in Soft Tissue Sarcomas
Iovance announced that one-time lifileucel monotherapy demonstrated unprecedented efficacy with deep, durable responses across two difficult-to-treat soft tissue sarcomas with limited treatment options, metastatic undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma, in a pilot trial presented orally at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress 2026 in Madrid. Among the first eight evaluable patients, physician-assessed confirmed objective response rate was 50%. Four partial responses were all ongoing as of the data cut-off on September 9. The safety profile was consistent with the lifileucel treatment regimen across other indications. "On the heels of this pilot trial, we are rapidly enrolling the SARATOGA registrational study to support two new approvals for lifileucel," said Brian Gastman, executive VP, translational medicine and research.
Iovance's Lifileucel with Pembrolizumab Shows 62.5% Objective Response Rate in Melanoma
Iovance announced that one-time lifileucel combined with pembrolizumab demonstrated a 62.5% objective response rate and a 29.2% complete response rate, with median overall survival not reached at 50.9 months of median study follow-up in the final Phase 2 analysis in frontline advanced melanoma. The final analysis in frontline advanced melanoma included 24 patients treated with one-time lifileucel that met pre-determined manufacturing specifications and pembrolizumab monotherapy for up to 24 months. Median progression-free survival was 19.8 months. Median PFS after second line of therapy was 34.3 months, "indicating that subsequent systemic therapy remains feasible after frontline lifileucel and pembrolizumab, including additional ICI therapy," the company added.
