Avista Emphasizes Operational Priorities and Cost Management

Avista Pauses Negotiations with Data Center Developers
Avista announced it is taking additional time to evaluate the processing of energy requests from new large data center developers as it seeks to partner with governmental agencies on creating a clear and coordinated planning process and as the company considers additional stakeholder feedback. Negotiations concerning energy service to this potential data center are now paused. The decision follows recent community interest and concern related to Avista's previously announced Memorandum of Understanding with the new 500MW data center developer.
North Plains Connector Welcomes Minnkota Power Cooperative as Eighth Member
North Plains Connector welcomes Minnkota Power Cooperative as the eighth member of its utility consortium. Minnkota has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with North Plains Connector, a subsidiary of Grid United, to secure 150 megawatts of capacity on the 3,000-megawatt, high-voltage direct current transmission line once it begins operations, subject to successful negotiation of definitive agreements. Once completed, North Plains Connector will be the first HVDC transmission line in the United States to connect three regional electric energy markets - the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, the Western Interconnection, and the Southwest Power Pool - improving the reliability and resiliency of the electrical grid across the region while broadening market connections. Grid United and ALLETE are joint developers of North Plains Connector. Other members of the utility consortium with signed capacity MOUs with the project are: Avista (AVA), BHE U.S. Transmission, MDU Resources (MDU) subsidiary Montana-Dakota Utilities, NorthWestern Energy (NWE), Portland General Electric (POR), and Puget Sound Energy.

Company Expects 4% to 6% Growth in Non-GAAP Utility Earnings by 2025
This non-GAAP utility earnings guidance is based on the following assumptions: Normal weather and hydroelectric generation; A negative impact from the ERM of ($0.10) cents per diluted share within the 90% customer, 10% company sharing band; An effective tax rate of 12 percent; Capital expenditures of $585 million; Effective regulatory outcomes. Over the long term, the company expects non-GAAP utility earnings to grow 4 to 6 percent from the midpoint of its 2025 consolidated earnings guidance.
