VEON Acquires 100% of Rubicon Wireless in Uzbekistan

Veon announces that it has agreed to acquire 100% of Rubicon Wireless, the mobile network operator trading under the "Perfectum" brand, a mobile network operator in Uzbekistan. The acquisition will bring complementary spectrum and network assets into VEON's operations in Uzbekistan, strengthening Beeline Uzbekistan's ability to deliver better connectivity, expand broadband access and support the country's growing demand for digital services, financial services and sovereign augmented intelligence further contributing to the strong economic growth and ongoing modernization of the Uzbekistan's economy. Under the terms of the agreement, the total consideration is approximately $207M inclusive of the assumed Perfectum's outstanding financial debt of approximately $93M. Perfectum's assets include 115 MHz of spectrum across the 850 MHz and 3,800 MHz bands, together with modern network equipment and infrastructure assets, including a 5G standalone network deployed using Nokia equipment. The transaction is expected to increase Beeline Uzbekistan's spectrum holdings by approximately 50%, providing additional resources to enhance network coverage and capacity and support its roadmap for 5G and fixed wireless access services. The cash consideration will be funded from VEON's existing cash resources. Relevant regulatory approvals for the acquisition have been obtained, and completion is expected by the end of October.

Veon and Amdocs Sign 10-Year Strategic Agreement

Veon (VEON) and Amdocs (DOX) announced a 10-year strategic agreement. Under the agreement, Amdocs will run and continuously modernize Veon's core technology operations, accelerate its strategy as a digital operator, and provide long-term cost predictability across its IT operations in Eurasia. Amdocs will utilize certain QazCode intellectual property rights, leveraging QazCode's technology expertise, which will be integrated into Amdocs aOS, an agentic operating system purpose-built for telecommunications.

VEON Launches Starlink Mobile Service in Kazakhstan

VEON announced that customers in Kazakhstan will now be able to use Starlink Mobile on their smartphones to access apps and messaging in areas without terrestrial mobile coverage. Beeline Kazakhstan, in partnership with Starlink, enables connectivity directly to smartphones. "Starlink Mobile is a powerful example of how connectivity can change lives, not just convenience. For someone stranded on a remote road or lost in the mountains, this could mean the difference between isolation and getting help. That's the kind of impact VEON exists to deliver for people in Kazakhstan and across our markets," said Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of VEON Group.
