Satellogic Signs Three-Year Agreement with HEO
Satellogic and HEO, a space intelligence company that images and analyzes objects in orbit on demand, announced a three-year agreement under which Satellogic will provide HEO access to its high-resolution constellation to conduct non-Earth imaging, or NEI, and generate insights, supporting space domain awareness globally. The recently signed agreement runs through 2029 and includes a seven-figure minimum annual commitment for each of its three years. The agreement extends a collaboration that dates back to September 2020, when HEO approached Satellogic about imaging objects in orbit. Successful captures using Satellogic's fleet have grown from about 30 in 2021, the first full year of service, to over 1,600 under the most recent agreement in the last year. The agreement covers Satellogic's NewSat Mark IV, Mark V and Mark VI satellites, including its newest inter-satellite link-equipped spacecraft. "HEO came to us in 2020 with a question few people in our industry had asked yet: what can an Earth observation satellite see if you point it at what's in orbit? Our first project was a picture of the International Space Station. Six years and well over a thousand captures per year later, HEO has taken the capability and become a leader in NEI and space domain awareness," said Emiliano Kargieman, CEO and co-founder of Satellogic.
Satellogic Successfully Launches First Merlin.01 Satellite
Satellogic announced the successful satellite launch of its first Merlin.01, two NewSat Mark VIs, and one NewSat Mark V. The satellites were delivered into sun-synchronous low-Earth orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 on October 1st. They have made contact with Satellogic's ground station network with good health reports for all subsystems.
Satellogic Expands Agreement with IDT to Support ONR Slingshot III Program
Satellogic announced an expanded agreement with Innovative Defense Technologies, or IDT, in support of the U.S. Office of Naval Research, or ONR, Slingshot III program. The new work builds on Satellogic's ongoing role in the Slingshot initiative and will advance faster, more autonomous production of track data, improved predictive planning, and new in-orbit operational capabilities. Under the agreement, Satellogic will conduct a series of on-orbit activities and tests during 2027 and 2028. The work supports the integration of six new Satellogic NewSat Mark VI satellites into the Slingshot III architecture over the next 18 months, extending the program from proof-of-concept demonstrations toward operationally relevant capabilities. The activities and testing will encompass enhanced onboard data processing, system feasibility checks, and automated data filtering. Together, these capabilities are designed to accelerate the creation of actionable track data and enable more responsive planning and execution across a distributed satellite system.
Satellogic to Launch Three New Satellites in October
Satellogic announced that two new NewSat Mark VI satellites equipped with inter-satellite link technology and one additional NewSat Mark V satellite will launch in October. The two Mark VI satellites extend Satellogic's ISL architecture across a growing share of its fleet, allowing satellites to share information directly with one another in orbit. A detected change or object of interest on one satellite can inform the tasking of another without every decision passing through the ground first, shortening the data-to-decision timeline and ensuring the constellation operates as a connected, coordinated system.
SynMax Delivers Maritime Intelligence Exclusively Through Theia
SynMax announced that all maritime intelligence derived from Satellogic's Merlin constellation will be delivered exclusively through Theia, SynMax's maritime intelligence platform. Designed to scan the planet daily at one-meter-class resolution with co-collected AIS, beginning with its first launch in October 2026, Merlin gives Theia a high-frequency imagery pipeline purpose-built for maritime domain awareness. The capability rolls out to customers beginning in 2027 as the constellation builds out.
