L3Harris Opens New Rocket Motor Production Facility in Camden
L3Harris Technologies joined federal, state and local leaders to open the new Arsenal of Freedom solid rocket motor production facility in Camden. L3Harris designed the facility to double current capacity, with additional growth available. The new facility, along with additional propellant processing facilities, will support production for the U.S. Army's Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System. The new footprint centralizes production of the solid rocket motors that power the surface-to-surface precision fires capability. The completion of this facility is part of a $216M cooperative agreement the company signed with the Department of War in 2023 to support the increased demand for tactical missiles, including Javelin, Stinger and the GMLRS. The Department's Defense Production Act Title III cooperative agreement with L3Harris included building new facilities at its Camden, Arkansas, and Orange County, Virginia, locations, as well as equipment and digital upgrades at the Huntsville, Alabama, facilities.
L3Harris Receives $876.44 Million Contract Modification from U.S. Navy
L3Harris Technologies has received an undefinitized contract modification award from the U.S. Navy for the next engineering and manufacturing phase of the Next Generation Jammer Low Band program. The effort, worth $876,440,942, supports an accelerated timeline for NGJ-LB, aligning with the Department of War's priority of delivering expedited capability to the warfighter. The NGJ-LB will advance the Navy's ability to disrupt and degrade enemy radar and communications by integrating sophisticated jamming capabilities with faster processing. L3Harris' modular, open-system architecture will also simplify maintenance and help enable seamless upgrades. NGJ-LB will operate with joint and allied forces, which will allow growth capacity for future technology integration. The award builds on the company's support for the Navy's airborne electronic attack mission, including the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System, which continues to play an important role in fleet operations. Together, these programs demonstrate a commitment to sustaining today's mission while advancing the next generation of capability.
L3Harris and Divergent Sign Agreement to Enhance Munitions Production
L3Harris and Divergent Technologies, Inc. have signed a teaming agreement to scale production and enhance capabilities for affordable mass munitions. L3Harris Technologies and Divergent Technologies, Inc. have signed a teaming agreement to scale production and enhance capabilities for affordable mass munitions. The two companies will initially seek to leverage Divergent's additive manufacturing processes for L3Harris' Wolf Pack family of munitions, Red Wolf and Green Wolf. Both are part of the company's growing suite of launched effects and modular vehicles, which deliver long-range precision strike and non-kinetic capabilities. "Today's evolving battlefield demands highly capable, affordable munitions to counter low-cost threats at scale," said Quinlan Lyte, President, Advanced Effects, Missile Solutions, L3Harris. "We look forward to exploring how we can collaborate with Divergent to increase production of our proven systems and accelerate rapid design development of future product family offerings."
L3Harris Delivers VAMPIRE Systems to U.S. Army
L3Harris Technologies has started delivering VAMPIRE counter-unmanned systems to the U.S. Army in support of hostile drone defense. Initial deliveries arrived within two months of the Army's $106M order. L3Harris' VAMPIRE system is a self-contained weapons solution that is capable of delivering advanced reconnaissance and precision strike against drones and other remotely piloted aircraft. Military forces have used the technology extensively in support of European combat operations, logging more than 350,000 operational hours since 2023.
L3Harris Awarded $250M Contract from Lockheed Martin
L3Harris Technologies (LHX) has been awarded a follow-on contract from Lockheed Martin (LMT), valued at $250M, to manufacture standard-range Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System propulsion units. This contract will be fulfilled within the new 60,000-square-foot Arsenal of Freedom facility in Camden, Arkansas, scheduled to open later this year. The new facility will centralize production with advanced automation and robotics designed to streamline each stage of solid rocket motor manufacturing.
